I really wasn't expecting any fancy remastering and liner notes. I already knew this was going to be a basic reissue. Honestly, I'm shocked to find out they even went as far as providing sleeves and artwork for each individual album. I think I'm going to end up ordering it because I have a feeling it's going to end up being a collector's item.
Yeah I guess I will go ahead and order this set. It's probably the best we're gonna get I can't imagine Warners doing anything more with Chaka's catalog.

The best we can hope for at this point is some speciality label properly reissuing "What Cha Gonna Do" with the two non-album tracks "Lover's Touch" and "Only Once". I also understand that there are some unreleased gems from the "I Feel For You" sessions that have never seen the light of day. God only knows what else is sitting in their vaults that never made it onto any of those albums. Warner clearly doesn't seem to be interested in doing any expanded editions of her works. Maybe someone over at the Rhino label will wake up out of their stuper one day and do the right thing. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

there is also her unreleased 1995 album 'Dare You To Love Me',which Warners rejected back then.It would be cool if they finally came to their senses and gave it a proper release.

If that ever happens (which I doubt very seriously), it will definately be on a speciality label. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

hey thanks for the info.I had never heard these songs before! You're welcome! "Lover's Touch" was recently issued for the first time on a CD entitled "Soul Togetherness 2009". I've always LOVED "Only Once" and I'm anxiously waiting on that one to finally be available on CD. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

More Industry Piracy!, (a review from an Amazon customer)
March 1, 2010 I'm writing this commentary from an American standpoint given that the product in question is an import only release, so please hear me out (and think about this:) Firstly, who, that is a true Old School R&B fan, DOESN'T already own all of these, save for 1982's Japan-only release of "Chaka Khan," which has, up until this poor excuse for a boxed set, been made unavailable and excessively priced in The States for the past 28 years? Secondly, who would even wanna replace the aformentioned four titles that they have most likely owned for years ALREADY just to buy this set only to obtain the "Chaka Khan" title? These AREN'T even remastered! So, here you have it-more music industry piracy at the consumer's expense. Do they, at Warner Brothers, think that the American music buying public are complete idiots or WHAT?! Just recently, I purchased the "Chaka Khan" CD for my other 1/2 for a Valentine's Day gift and paid $50.00 for it. Why, in the name of God, would one pay the outrageous asking price HERE for four albums that we have already owned for years only to obtain the ONE CD which has been withheld in The States from the consumer? Save your money AND your four Chaka CD's and buy the "Chaka Khan" CD here on Amazon or on Ebay (individually) and complete your collection in THIS manner until it's finally released as a NORMAL (and FAIR) reissued/remastered title. Mark my word, the titles contained within this box will all be remastered one day eventually anyway (we hope) and you'll be stuck with the box (if you're dumb enough to buy it) which will only render itself useless and for a very high price at that. Don't buy into this scheme. It's rampant these days and it's extremely unfair to the consumer. If the execs. at WB TRULY cared about the demands of the fans who have been requesting that the "Chaka Khan" album see the light of CD format all these years, then (by now) it would have been released as an individual entity from her solo career repertoire many moons ago and not soley as a part of this ridiculous boxed set which boasts absolutely nothing except "ripoff" and corporate greed. Agreed? Thanks 4 listening. I wish not to offend, but to enlighten. Peace.
