I absolutely adore this song. [Edited 2/5/10 20:26pm] I do nothing professionally. I only do things for fun. johnart: Acrylic's old bras is where tits of all sizes go to frolic after they die. Tit Heaven.

I think people will remember the incident about Rihanna for a long while. This will cost him his career maybe. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

He honestly sounds like crap.
He's through. His core audience is young females and after that whole incident a majority of them left. I don't see them coming back LMAO!

Chris is over and I never though that would happen, but it has and he deserves it. Usually, these type of "incidents" have a short shelf life, but his beatdown of Rihanna is the Energizer bunny of assaults. "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Wasn't his whole shtick that of the "preppy good guy"? He pretty much blew that right out of the water with his "tribute" to Ike Turner.
Now he's trying to reinvent himself into the "bad boy" persona and I don't think it's going to work. I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

He can get his career back if he really wants it, he just can't kick and whine his way there though. He has to take all the backlash like a man and bulldozer through it. If his talent is sincere, he'll be back on top again. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

[Edited 2/5/10 20:38pm] Nothing has really happened to Kanye's career that I can see. He's still successful...asshole or not, he still holds an impressive fan base..with me included. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

A lot of successful past or present singers have tainted past, and their careers bounce back! The message you are about to hear are not meant for transmission. I'm just glad he disappeared faster than I thought he would.
He needs a damn masterpiece to get back on top. not gonna happen. 2012: The Queen Returns

With his fascination for and with gay fashion shows and lifestyle, I think he is missing his calling - a runway male. He could be a delight.
Her could also do porn, he would sell big there, Since he put Rihanna on blast by posting nude pics of her, I imagine there would be some interest worth monies to see his naughty bits as well. As for a career as a hitmaking male singer of pop and r&b - as I have stated before, stick a fork in him, he is done! You can't beat the shit out of a pop princess and recover to your heyday - the game does not work like that. Music Royalty in Motion

I blame all this kind of talk on the net. Would this kind of thought exist back in the 80's? would we get threads that were called "can vanity get her career back". The thing is there is so much focus on this nonsense, whos hot whos not whos this whos that. I dont think people realize this, but no one is moving, music is not a relevant thing anymore, i dont care who you are, its not the focus, why do you think Beyonce has perfume, clothing, books, magazines etc...because the music is not a money maker for her. If you dont tour and play shows you have no career, case closed. I dont care how much your album sold or how many times mtv plays your video, if you cant put "asses" in seats at a show on a constant basis, you are nothing. The only reason why people hard on him is because the one female he hit in the face just so happened to be a famous pop singer, if it wasn't Rhianna and some unknown girlfriend he had, it wouldn't have affected his career. Sad but true. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Exactly! i hear things all the time from girls that work on the set of rap/rb music videos and they tell about altercations, sexual harrassment etc...but no one cares because they are viewed as nothing more than video ho's, and if one gets punched by _____ (insert whomever) then no one really cares, and odds are they will blame her for "bringing it on" or "asking for it because thats what goes on" "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

If you look at how many "unknown" women James Brown beat (and one known, Tammy Terrell was one of victims too, perhaps she wasn't famous enough for people to care), the women Jimi Hendrix beat, and countless other male superstars whose careers are now lengendary, no one talks about that...but because Chris Brown decided to punch a pop princess, then all of sudden, he's worst than a pedophile in most people's eyes and I just don't get that. If James Brown had dated and beat up on Diana Ross, would his career had survived that???? Surely if R.Kelly was forgiven for something that was clearly recorded and clearly wrong, which I think in hindsight was far much worse than what Chris Brown did, then Chris Brown can be forgiven and his career will eventually recover. No one battered an eyelid when Jay Z was caught on camera slapping a girl. I'm far from being a Chris Brown fan nor am i defending him. I'm just stating that people are Hypocrites.

[Edited 2/6/10 16:47pm] You can't compare the two. One is an established act, fanbase is a completey different demographic. Plus what he was accused of allegedly doing with an unknown prostitute isn't half as bad as a young rising star that beat up his more famous girlfriend.

Once again we get into discussions about what happened and didn't back in the day to him, her or whomever. I don't care who you are, what you do for a living, what may have been tolerated, winked at, or ignored.... when the time changes it behooves you to have the intelligence recognize and move accordingly. Or, you'll join the chorus of people who cry about what others did and got away with... it doesn't change your circumstance. Mr. Brown made his bed....

Chris Brown will always have a fanbase. That will never change. But he will be stagnated at this "failure" level forever, no matter what he sings.
Everyone (except me, lol) foolishly thought he was the "new Michael Jackson." NOT. But now, I guess it's time for a "new Chris Brown".... I think it's Justin Bieber. "You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee
