Unfortunately, by him being in the new generation of performers, I can see how he would not necessarily have inherited a sense of stage. Dude has a good voice, though. He needs better (read: more mature) subject matter for his songs. He's got the voice to step up to the Freddy Jackson spot but his songs still sound like he's singing to 19-20 year olds. Well, technically, its an interpolation. The sample is under it but not out front. The bass line is a bass synth or software synth. So are the drums. I like the vocals he did over it. | |

I did like his work with Zhane and the one single After the Party with that duo but i don't like anything by Next and i don't care for Jaheim's music either besides Fabulous and i do like the new single a little. Don't laugh at my funk

Tonewise, Jaheim is this generation's Teddy Pendergrass. (or as close as they are gonna get) He's one of the few singers out now who sounds unmistakeably like a black man and isn't singing in some whiny-assed Usher/Omarion tone.
You don't hear voices like Jeffrey Osborne, Barry White, James Ingram, Larry Graham, Freddy jackson, Alexander O'Neal, Issac Hayes, David Ruffin, Miles Jaye, etc., etc., etc. in today's R&B music. There's Anthony Hamilton and Jaheim and maybe a few others that fly very low on the R&B radar like Anthony David and Wade O. Brown. Where's this generation's Christopher Williams? The R&B baritone has gone the way of the R&B band. | |

Not to me. Jaheim sounds a LOT like Teddy. I hear some of the Luther influences on songs like "Never", but mostly Teddy. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Not to me. Jaheim sounds a LOT like Teddy. I hear some of the Luther influences on songs like "Never", but mostly Teddy. I disagree in fact that is how he got his recording contract by singing a Luther song. I think it was "House Is Not A Home". He can easily redo a Luther song & most people would be shocked on how identical they sound....Teddy had a more raspier sound...There tone is similar but that's it.... will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that wasn't of this earth, would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. | |

All of there voices is raspy. But Teddy's voice to me is more raspier. I'll agree to disagree with U. I just see more similarity in Luther. I can't remember which song but Jaheim actually has recorded a Luther song. It was released on his last album "Makings Of A Man". However, here's the catch, it was only available as a bonus track on the I-tunes preorder version! I can kick myself in the azz for missing that one!!!
