Why on earth didn't i go to the george michael concert?

Just watched the dvd of george michael (there is probably already a tread about, but the search doesn't work) and damn, what an amazing concert. What a voice and what an amazing stage. The start was already beautiful with all the different lights comming down. It's funny he doesn't even play some of his big hits (Monkey, I want your sex, Knew you were waiting). It was great to hear "Fantasy" (wasn't that a bside?) I really feel stupid i didn't go when he was playing in Amsterdam and i hope he lied when he said this is his last tour. George Michael: 12 points!

I wish I could have made one of his concerts but the good seats were around $300 - I never paid that much to see Prince - who is still the greatest live act you can see on planet Earth. I love the bluray of George's London concert. It is very well done and it actually puts MJ's This Is It to shame.

Yes it does, George doesn't put out much material, but when he does its pure perfection. Its strange he doesn't get that much publicity.

Hell yeah it is! I'm finding more and more edits throughout the thing, which is fine of course, but I can see the seams where they pieces things together. They did a great job though. I've gotten reacquainted with "Fantasy" after all these years, because of the concert.

To RobertLove: "Fantasy" was a b-side to "Freedom '90" I believe.

I was sad to hear he didn't sing "I Want Your Sex", especially after doing the long version of "Fastlove". He could have cut out a couple of slow songs, and put that in there. I REALLY missed "Star People '97" though. Damn, I love that song!

"I want your sex" would have been great, same goes for "monkey"(remix), i know its not the best song he made, but with that stage and public, it would have rocked!

fantasy was originally the b side to freedom 90, and was originally intended to be on listen without prejudice vol 2, which was to be a slightly dancier companion to the first volume, but due to GM's falling out with sony it was canned. some of the tracks ended up on red hot and dance and b sides and singles like too funky. the lyrics of freedom 90 say "we were living in a fantasy" thus it being the b side

the song was also rerecorded in 1998 and was the b side to outside, and the rerecorded version is on the european and australian versions of the second disc of ladies and gentlemen. the american version has a slightly different tracklisting for the second disc

the rerecordings of i'm your man, everything she wants and fantasy were related to the additional tracks he was obligated to give sony to tie in with the wham and GM greatest his discs as part of his contract negotiations

btw he did star people 97 (the remix version) at one show at least, but along with hard day it wasn't included on the dvd/blueray, but hard day was put online at least

Wish he had released the listen without vol 2, i loved his tracks for the red, hot and dance album..."I can make you happy...."

all the tracks were released one way or another, so you can just compile your own version like i did a few years back

That's partially incorrect. "Fantasy" was a B-side to "Freedom '90", originally. It might have very well showed up elsewhere later, but it that's it's origin.

Correct with "Crazyman Dance" as the B-side. He donated 3 songs to Red Hot + Dance, including "Happy", and "Do You Really Want To Know", along with "Too Funky".

It was really the end of GM releasing new material for Sony, which he vowed he'd due after he started the legal proceedings against Sony. He released stuff he'd already recorded.

i said fantasy was the freedom 90 b side earlier, and pointed out the lyric references. i was just looking at some cd singles and noticed it was on that cd single too. there are also extended versions of crazyman dance and too funky on that cd single. i vaguely recall there is also a remix called jazzman dance or something from a promo or 12"

had it been for anything but Red Hot + Dance album and a cause he wholly believed in, he probably wouldn't have even released them then and LWP vol 2 would have been his Gold Experience that he kept dangling in front of the label.
