Toto, While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Does it beat Prince? People online say Steve Lukather's solo beats Prince's from the Hall of fame:

Very good.
I saw a close incarnation of that Toto (Greg Phillinganes, Simon Phillips with Leland Sklar in place of Mike Porcaro on bass). Here's the studio version (without the solo cut off)... ...from their Through The Looking Glass album. Of course you know that if you say anybody does anything better than Mr.P, even if you're 100% accurate, you're asking to get slimed. Does it beat Prince's performance? I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

what people do not understand is that these cats are "trained musicians" Prince is not technical nor trained and everything he does is just basically lifted from everyone else.

The question that should be asked is: did Prince's show-boating performance or Toto's tepid interpretation supplant the original solo laid down by Clapton on The White Album? Answer: no.
