See I don't care what the sales stats say, NKOTB were a bigger teen phenomenon than any of the white boy bands after that.

Backstreet Boys and N'Sync (ugh) simply came around in a right time when singles charts meant nothing so kids were forced to buy the albums. Downloading hadn't completely taken off yet, and most of all it was the baby boomer generation coming around again and there were just a lot more teenagers in the world than 10 years earlier.

Also don't forget the age of the 80s superstars was still very much alive in the late 80s and early 90s, so the more sophisticated kids were probably still very much MJ/Madonna/Prince/George Michael while the pre-teens went crazy for the New Kids.

I agree, i wasn't even familiar with singles until i accidently bought one...ugh still pissed

No musical talent but at least the group produced a pretty decent actor. Mark Wahlberg was excellent in "The Departed".

Holy shit Tommy Page!! You dusted him off and just pulled him out. Where has he been for the past 20 years? Remember Seiko? Donnie did a duet with her called "the right combination".

Donnie is/was way hotter than his brothers. No flared nostrils and I truly believe he's a better actor (Band of Brothers, The Kill Point, Runaway, Boomtown). He's just typecast as playing cops unfortunately and has more success on TV than film.

Mark hit big with Boogie Nights which I love, but he's so awkward on screen. I can't believe he got Oscar nominated for The Departed - I adore that film but he only got the nomination because his character had the best lines. If anyone deserved a 'Supporting' nom for that movie then Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen were better.
