she's a pretty girl who writes, plays and sings her own material, worked hard to get where she's at, and sells a shit-load of albums. and on top of it, she's still a teenager, who by all accounts is respectful and humble and isn't out boozing and whoring around like some other teenage celebrities we've seen in the last decade.

she's not my cup of tea, but i can see her value and her worth. what else would you rather award and reward than the above?

See...this is why mediocre talent is celebrated! I don't mean you personally bboy87, I'm just using this to illustrate my point.

I wouldn't have cared if Roberta Flack showed up in a nap sac with a lamp shade on her head. That woman has more talent and singing capability than everybody who won an award last night with the only exceptions probably being Michael Jackson and Mary J. Blidge!

I've read not one comment about her performance and how amazing her VOICE STILL sounds after all these years. All I've seen are jokes about her wig and irrelevant stuff about her clothes and makeup. The greedy record industry execs aren't killing music all by themselves, they've got plenty of accomplices!

.
[Edited 2/1/10 6:56am]

We love Roberta, Johnart and I are just joking around lol

Oh...ok! Y'all better let me know something! I was about to get into my diatribe about Auntie 'Berta's little pinkie toe having more talent in it than a few folks I saw perform last night! hmph!

lol
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Not quite. the Dave Matthews Band album is not "piss poor" and I'm not even a fan of theirs.

Yeah. I am a fan and I thought Big Whiskey was their most consistently enjoyable album from start to finish.

And the big Grammy boss came out and said that if people kept stealing their work that the future of music will be compromised. Unbelievable.

We in renaissance now!

lol Very nice.

The Grammy’s missed the renaissance decades ago, now they’re celebrating what’s left of a industry so low it can’t even reach up and touch dysfunction.

If the music has had to go underground, that’s where the award shows need to follow.

I watched some of the performances again today.
You know what? Pink's song might have been forgettable in the context of an award show, but her performance was fuckin flaw-less.
Not only was her body rockin, but the fact that she can hold her vocals so steady while doin some of that shit, and do it all so gracefully. Her dismount was so seamless.

In reality she should've won Best Pop Female for "Sober". It would have been well deserved.

Pink has talent something the Grammy's stopped caring bout, specially for women, in the mid 90's.

To be honest GaGa with Elton was cool - she has some talent.

it was good to see Stevie Nicks. I think Maxwell should really do something with his voice. his performance in Oprhah show wasn't vocally good either. on albums he's much-much better as we know

MJ tribute was ok, but there were too many people there

I've seen Maxwell do pitch perfect live performances that make me wet my panties, but alas, that's usually in the beginning of tours and press junkets. Sometimes folks are just tired,so I can't hold this performance against him since I've seen him shine in so many others with a falsetto that can move you to tears. Totally unrelated, but, why I am LOVING his backround singer that has done this tour and this year's press junket performances in full on evening gowns and Cotton Club hair??? love love love
