Ok, 20 notches. She looked lovely tho. Also, you don't sing "You Oughta Know" unless you're prepared to say FUCK and be blipped. i wish she would stop singing that, period. that song is not meant to be soft sung like that. What's going on with Roberta Flack's makeup? It's like she cried some of it off then used her wig to clean her face off [Edited 1/31/10 23:38pm] See...this is why mediocre talent is celebrated! I don't mean you personally bboy87, I'm just using this to illustrate my point. I wouldn't have cared if Roberta Flack showed up in a nap sac with a lamp shade on her head. That woman has more talent and singing capability than everybody who won an award last night with the only exceptions probably being Michael Jackson and Mary J. Blidge! I've read not one comment about her performance and how amazing her VOICE STILL sounds after all these years. All I've seen are jokes about her wig and irrelevant stuff about her clothes and makeup. The greedy record industry execs isn't killing music all by themselves, they've got plenty of accomplices! . [Edited 2/1/10 5:57am] Exactly. It goes to show you that many don't know real talent or real music. Roberta Flack is an icon, and an inspiration to many artists. Minstrel and manufactured BS acts seem to be taking over, and if you're not swinging from the ceiling, wearing some outrageous, robotic BS costume, jumping around like stepit and fechit, have 20 military like dudes dancing behind you, or jumping through a hoop of fire, then you could forget it.

Whatever happened to just singing on stage without being dumped in a box of fire or swinging around in the air like a trapeze performer? Between Gaga's costume and Pink swinging around in the air, I feel like I just watched a pre-show of the Ringling Barnum and Bailey Circus.
[Edited 1/31/10 17:50pm] This is why I quit watching these music awards shows. It became less about the music and more about who could shoot the most sparks out their ass on stage. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

After awhile, all that sh*t will get old. It seems like she tries desperately to get attention, when she really doesn't have to go to that extreme. I think people just make too much of a big deal out of her. She is basically the female Elton John/Liberace now. [Edited 2/1/10 7:09am]

Or swing their tongue from the front of the stage all the way to the back and wrap it completely around the audience. Then use stilts to walk up and down the stage, while jumpiing off of them doing somersaults across the front aisle as flames shoot out the bottom of their shoes and airlifts them up to the ceiling, then back on stage, only to be shot out of a cannon straight through the front door of the venue, where they land on their ass. By the way, I still feel traumatized after seeing Jamie Foxx's sister bumrush the stage doing a 90s new jack dance. [Edited 2/1/10 7:19am]

If a person is not willing to listen to her (or anyone) strictly on their looks that's a whole different story. But plenty of us can handle recognizing talent and revelling in some catty humor. She should have played a much bigger part in that duet, because quite frankly I like Maxwell but he did no justice to the studio version of his song. I would've loved more Ms. Roberta, crusty wig and all. [Edited 2/1/10 7:42am]

That's true. He goes ballistic, must be the alchohol, no pun intended. Anyway, here's his sister getting on stage at the 4:18 mark. From what I understand she is developmentally challenged, but I'm sure most folks in the audience were not aware of that and was probably wondering who she was. [Edited 2/1/10 7:43am]

He seemed a little surprised when she got on stage and looked like he positioned her to stay in that spot, once he realized she was there.

She was happy for her brother and I commend Jaime for not shunning her because of her disability. Now, it is time for Jaime to get focused and make the music that he is capable of making, not that unfocused shyt that he continues to put out.
