Kanye Banned from Haiti Telethon

disbelief
Kanye Banned from Haiti Telethon from Hiphopwired.com

It looks like the actions of Kanye West in the past and his constant issue with checking his ego at the door hasn't paid off for the rapper even now.

In an attempt to bring as many supporters as possible to aid in the relief of Haiti, there have been countless telethons being conducted to raise awareness and donations for the country after the devastation that it's suffered.

Actor George Clooney is doing his part with his own telethon, but reports are saying that he won't allow West to participate in the fundraiser which will be broadcasted tomorrow.

Sources have added that they are going out of their way to ensure that West doesn't make an unwanted appearance, courtesy gawker.com.

“After what he said on the Katrina telethon and the way he behaved at the MTV Video Music Awards, everyone agrees it's just best that he does not participate, said a producer.

Where some blame it on his passion, others look at it as a little kid trying to just get everyone's attention while embarrassing others in the process.

“Kanye has to make everything about himself. He will do anything to steal the spotlight, and, well, this night it's just not about him.

There have been no statements released by West.

Damn, first President Obama calls him a ‘jackass' and now he's not allowed to help raise funds for Haiti 'smh' the past always finds a way to catch up.
_____

Sure everyone knows he can be an asshole, but who gives a person the right to tell them they can't participate in a function to help another country that is dire need? I just don't think this is right. Banning him from an awards show, I can see, but not a charity event. My twocents

hmmm maybe you are right, but it just irks me that they are turning someone away when all people's help is needed right now. If it was anything else that he was banned from, oh well who cares, but it's a charity. Oh well, just my opinion. I know this news will bring joy to those who absolutely hate Kanye with all their might... confused

He tells the truth most of the time, like with at the Katrina charity telethon, but other times he should keep his mouth shut (like with the Beyonce comment which wasn't the truth).

Kanye sucks. And rhyming the same word 6 times in a row isn't really rhyming (or talent for that matter).

The truth is only effective when you choose to hear it ...alot of people in the US just don't like the truth ....at the end of the day Kanye only saying what people on the street are thinking and saying ....don't worry the British Media hate him as well ....

Look it does no good to play the game look how they are trying to get at Beyonce and she played the game and even gave that Taylor Swift her award back...but they still hating on her in the Media....

Games are for fools.... lol

Oy, I get why producers don't want him on a live mic. However if he can draw in more people considering the dire circumstances, he should be allowed to perform. Not make speeches, not read from a cue-card, JUST perform. But I guess producers still feel like he can say whatever during the performance?? shrug Sad, but he has acted an ass w/ some of his public outbursts hammer

Kanye did not act an ass, what's wrong with telling the truth - he act's in good faith the problem is the media don't like to be told what to think by a "rapper" they just expect him to be counting his money like 50 Cent not get the youth to think ! lol

Obama comments about him was off air and off the record.....guess what the media did ...yep ...made it public ...he did not even see the show..... lol

Kanye is keeping Rap/Hip-hop alive .... Jay-Z is just cashing cheques his heart was out of the game years ago ..... same with 50 Cent he's just in it for the money no love...the rapper version of Britney Spears... lol

I hope this is true. Kanye is an arrogant asshole and has no class whatsoever. He may think that speaking his mind is cool (and it is), but there is a much better way of getting a point across than the way he does it.

I'm glad he said what he did about Bush, I'm NOT glad about the forum he used. Not when you're asking for donations, or charity - that isn't the time to alienate half the people you're asking to give. One would think he could put the people in need first, instead of setting the stage for a marginally funny SNL moment.

BAN is the perfect approach for this.

Why he needs to toe the line and all other artist can act the fool on stage be disrespectfull and get away with it....WTF ... lol

Kanye is a rapper and he speaks his mind .....the US don't like that... you've not had that since Public Ememy came on the seen in the 80's....and Chuck D didn't care .... lol

Any we all know what happened to Biggie and Tupac...when they started to speak up to the media cool

I'm not talking about what he said about George Bush. I happen to agree with that. I'm talking about his behavior otherwise. He's antics with Taylor Swift and his sucking up to Beyonce and Jay-Z was sickening. I'm not a fan of Swifts, but what he did made him look like the asshole he truly is. He has to pay for it just like we all do at some point in our lives if we treat people with no respect.

The fact that they are organizing it gives them the right.
If he wants to donate he can but it's not like there is a dearth of people to fill the time slot.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
