'Knock you down' - the most mediocre r&b hit in recent years.

So forgettable, I’m dumbfounded how it became a worldwide hit.

On a side note, she's nice to look at.

the industry is full of lame asses "talented" folks. i ain't mad at Keri for milking the cow, b4 its tits dry up. Her talent was already proven as a WRITER btw. she's at least INTERESTING to me, which is more than i can say for Beyonskank

Keri has been on the scene for a while and worked her way up; writing and singing background for many others. She's a workhorse. I first became aware of her when Timbaland dropped his solo CD a few years back. I was wondering who the woman was singing on all of his songs. It was Keri Hilson. She did some good work. That's her on backgrounds on a lot of stuff Timbaland has produced. She did all of the backgrounds on "Scream" with Timb and Nicole Scherzinger. (they didn't even mention her name when the song was out because no one knew who she was) She's no Gladys Knight, but neither were singers like Barbara Weathers (Atlantic Starr). They all have a place and play their position. She's just now coming around to the spotlight after spending a few years behind it. At least she worked her way up, unlike the typical label roster chick picked solely on her looks and then given a career.

Hey, you can't knock a chick for actually earning her money, can you? She's written for Britney and Ciara and there's no telling who she's ghostwritten for. She has ghostwriter written all over her. She writes pop chick songs. Its what she does. Somebody's gotta do it.
That being said; "Knock You Down" is boring and horrid. Guess they can't all be gems. My point is that she's not "talentless" but she's not exceptional or stellar either.
This is part of the problems that American Idol and the like have brought about. Everybody thinks they are Simon now. The vast majority of the public has no clue about how the music business works and why some people get where they are. A lot, and I mean A LOT of deals are made behind the scenes. There are a lot of people who shouldn't be where they are and there are some who have been behind the scenes for a while, waiting until they get their shot.

I actually like that song boxed

I think most of Beyonce's ballads are ok - i just think all the up-tempo stuff are pants (with the exception of crazy in love)

lol C'mon now Atlantic Starr was a real band and Barbara was talented enough 2 roll with them for 4 years, two albums and a solo shot. Keri like Ashanti and Christina Milian can get by with studio bells and whistles, they can write some hits but couldn't sing live if their lives depended on it. lol

Well i'm not a fan of Ashanti's voice but she sang well enough to be in The Wiz (which i saw this past summer here in NY) and I've seen Keri live and again she was able to deliver in concert
