Best Cover Songs!

Though they will never be as good as the original versions (at least for the most part)...what are your fav. cover tunes???

1-NOTHING COMPARES 2 U-Sinead O Connor
So damn good...in my opinion...much better than the Family orig...

2-SWEET JANE-Cowboy Junkies
Margo Timmins vocal is amazing...the song still stands the times!

3-SOLITARE-Sheryl Crow
'90's Carpenters remake...very moving...before Sheryl started to remake/duet on everything!

4-THE WEAKNESS IN ME-Melissa Etheridge
Great homage to Joan A...captures much emotion...

5-CHINA GIRL-Pete Yorn
Favorite '80's Bowie song by my current fav. artist!

so much more...so little time!
Every minute of last night is on my face today....

Al Green's version of the Bee Gee's "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart."

Aretha's versions of the following: "Respect", "The Weight", "Somewhere", "Until You Come Back To Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)", "Spanish Harlem"; by Otis Redding, The Band, Bernstein/Sondheim, Stevie Wonder, and Ben E. King respectively...just about any cover she did up until the mid 70s.

The Beatles version of the Isley Bros. "Twist and Shout."

Hendrix's version of Dylan's "All Along The Watchtower."

Meshell Ndegéocello's version of Leiber & Stoller's "Poison Ivy."

Rolling Stones' version of Bob & Earl's "Harlem Shuffle."

Talking Heads' version of Al Green's "Take Me To The River."

Chaka Khan's version of the Beatles' "We Can Work It Out."

Bruce Springsteen's version of Jimmy Cliff's "Trapped."

Stevie Wonder's version of the Beatles' "We Can Work It Out."

Isley Bros. version of Seals & Crofts "Summer Breeze."

Steely Dan's version of Horace Silver's "Song For My Father" err, nevermind. duh
