I think his record company rushed this album out so fast to test the waters. They over-pressed for sure, but they wanted to see just how mad the public was. They figured no matter when they released an album there would be backlash so they decided to meet it head-on. What did they get out of it?
Mixed reviews (some surprisingly positive considering the hate) and a top twenty single (astonishing). With 250+ sales they probably feel that there's still an audience and now they can relax with the release of the next record, after all the "nervous anticipation" phase is done. |
