The Tubes - She's A Beauty (Why would I lie??) Just found out about this song Saturday listening to some random rock station and playing cards. Once that Linn Drum snare rocked in on the chorus my eyes opened...grabbed a pen and write down the lyrics to find them later.... I like this song do you? Straight Jacket Funk Affair

Strange for me to hear somebody say they've never heard this. Then I read the youtube comments, saw another person say that on there, then realize the comment was you also. I only watched the video to see if they blurred out the nipple drum (as it sometimes is), but they did not. That's Alexis Arquette in the carnival ride.

Cool tune from a very good album...
...Outside Inside The tune was written by David Foster (album producer), Steve Lukather & Fee Waybill. The tracks are augmented by members of Toto along with a slew of top flight musicians & singers. Another nice tune from that album... ...Tip Of My Tongue Music for adventurous listeners tA Tribal Records "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Reminds me of Todd Rundgren when he was being more adventurous with his looks

As much as I've grown to dislike Foster's productions nowadays, I really liked his work back then (Chicago 16, 17 and 18; The Tubes "Outside Inside" and "The Completion Backward Principle"). Tip of My Tongue has to be the best tune on that album... killer horn arrangement and funny double entendre lyrics.

Love this song. One of those great mid-80s earwigs that has aged pretty well, all things considered.
Cause if you do you'll find out she don't love you... All good things they say never last...

Love this song. Love Foster's production. Love the backing vox. Not surprisenly, this track sounds like Chicago with all the connections on the track.
Great album aswell. Fee Waybill went on to write for Richard Marx. His solo album (again produced by Foster) wasn't bad either. One of my favs from the album... Great feel good music. [Edited 1/26/10 16:27pm]

speaking of double entendres, the bside to "She's a Beauty" was "When You're Ready To Come", which I believe was a non-album track.
when you're ready to come... when you're ready to come... when you're ready to come... back to me! * * *

That's my favorite album by The Tubes. The Todd Rundgren produced Remote Control is a good one also. Music for adventurous listeners tA Tribal Records "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."
