Once again defending a no-talent nobody. (LOL)

Well, when you put out that LauraRichardson CD or write some hits for somebody, get back to me, k?
I just stated how she came up in the business.

I don't have a doubt in my mind that I could come up with something better than this chick but I will wait and see if your CD turns up in the stores. All knowing music god that you are.

Teedra Moses is the bomb!!! She put out a classy CD and had the good sense to give 'Dip It Low' to Christina Milian(She wasn't trying to wash off all that black paint!).

Well, she ain't Aretha or Anita but Slow Dance is a good jam with a nice vocal palette to it.

It's a nice song, indeed, but I'd rather invest my dollas (or euros:lol:) in a singer I know that could deliver a slow jam like this live. Call me a fuddy duddy, but I'd probably skip over Keri in favor of an underdog like Tamia, who could sing circles around her no matter what tempo, even when her bones are breaking down from MS:

Keri's a cutie pie, though...I'm just not giving her my money for what I feel is somewhat lackluster talent. I'd probably watch what she's wearing for photo ops more than anything else, I think....

lol C'mon now Atlantic Starr was a real band and Barbara was talented enough 2 roll with them for 4 years, two albums and a solo shot. Keri like Ashanti and Christina Milian can get by with studio bells and whistles, they can write some hits but couldn't sing live if their lives depended on it. lol

Agreed.I'm not much of a fan of the Barbara Weathers era with Atlantic Starr
save a few songs like Silver Shadow but comparing Keri Hilson to Barbara
Weathers is like comparing Omarion to Rashaan Patterson.

Okay...
It seems like either some of you have reading comprehension problems or are deliberately trying to re-interpret what I said.
Let me make this clear:
I am not saying Keri Hilson is a better or even an equal singer to Barbara Weathers.
Re-read the above statement.
I am saying that going on who's in the business RIGHT NOW, not 1984 but RIGHT NOW, Keri Hilson is about where Barbara was. Barbara was never considered the best singer of her peer group. There was always a Whitney or Patti out shining her just like RIGHT NOW, there's always a Beyonce outshining Keri.
Of course Tamia is a better singer than Keri. So is J-Hud, Ledisi, Angie Stone, etc. I could go on. My example was more about position than talent.
Keri is a mediocre singer. I just said that she was a SONGWRITER who has worked her way up. That is the truth whether you guys like it or not. I'm not a fan of hers, I just happened to take notice of her early on because of her work on Timbaland's records.
Now get off my ass, please.
