Man,Rick had a baddass band behind him in The Stone City Band. Kinda feels like an unofficial sequel 2 "Superfreak", but that combo guitar Tom McDermott and bass Oscar Alston was tough enuff.. [Edited 1/25/10 18:32pm]

! I would love if they would do like they did with "Street Songs" - remastered with the extra trax and a second disc with a live show from that tour. "Always blessings, never losses......"

[Edited 1/26/10 7:31am] what a line up And that was my very first concert (Summer of 1982)! My second was The Gap Band with Roger/Zapp, Grand Master Flash, Goodie at the Cow palace in SF (Fall of 1982). My third was Prince with the Time and Vanity 6 in Oakland (Spring 1983). Rick James, Cameo, The Gap Band, Roger/Zapp, Prince, The Time....all at the top of their game in their prime during a 9 month period! "Always blessings, never losses......"

Actually the first concert I tried to go to was Prince with The Time on the Controversy tour in early 1982 at the Civic Auditorium in SF but me and my friends were too young to drive to get there. If it had been my responsibility to add a subtitle to "Hard To Get", I might have gone with "Super Freak The Sequel" or "Son of Super Freak" because Slick Rick darn near recorded a note-for-note copy of it. [Edited 1/26/10 16:52pm]

Remember the Circle Star Theatre?

I did not catch the Gap Band with Yarbrough and Peoples in early 1983 but I did catch the Gap Band at the Oakland Arena in late 1983 with Jeffrey Osborne and Atlantic Starr. In fact I got to meet the Gap Band at that show. I went to High School (Hayward High) with one of their neices Michelle and she got us backstage! "Always blessings, never losses......"
