Matt Morris on Ellen (with Justin Timberlake and Charlie Sexton) Did anyone see this on Ellen?
I don't usually watch Ellen, but I just happened to see his performance Friday: I thought this guy was great! I read up on him, and he's a very successful songwriter and former Mickey Mouse alum! (Boy that was a talented group.) And just as a point of interest he's openly gay and married to his partner. He's the son of country star Gary Morris. Matt's cd "When Everything Breaks Open." I'm gonna check it out. The guy's great, I think. I couldn't get the link to work, but I think it works now! [Edited 1/23/10 10:42am]

I didn't see this, but it answers "who is that" when JT performed on the Haiti telethon w/ him.

the funny thing is that Matt Morris is not billed on the Hope For Haiti album on iTunes, its JT and featuring Charlie Sexton. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

To me Charlie Sexton gives him cred! Plus his dad is no slouch either. I like Justin and recognize his talent, but not enough to be buy anything he's selling until now. I was really impressed with Matt the other day. But I get what your saying. It's not like he's reinventing the wheel or anything. I just like the fact he's "out" there--no illusions. And I read up a little more and apparently Justin signed Matt as the first artist on his label. I didn't even know Justin Timberlake had a label. the funny thing is that Matt Morris is not billed on the Hope For Haiti album on iTunes, its JT and featuring Charlie Sexton.
I didn't see the Haiti benefit. A friend of mine was telling me I missed some really good performances including this one. It's a shame he's being a little upstaged by Justin and Charlie. I'm sure neither of those guys intended to overshadow him. But people are so into "celebrity," and Matt is relative unknown, I guess. I hope the guy does well. I'm definitely buying his cd when I have a chance..

I remember Matt on MMC. He was never a favorite of mine -- I always liked Terra Deva (McNair), Keri Russell, Tony Lucca, and Rhona Bennett the most -- but I remember him being very musical. I wasn't surprised when he ended up being the songwriter of the crew. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I was hoping he wouldn't perform this dull tune on Ellen. He has better ones.. I was Youtubing Matt beginning of the year.

And after spending 2009 reading about the illuminati, I don't wanna hear a record about bloodlines

A guy or gal has to start somewhere, I guess! What's the difference with being on Disney and American Idol? At least Matt writes his own stuff. He's got some nice tattoos.. Nice voice.. plays guitar well. You're not even impressed Charlie Sexton is in his band? (Charlie of the Arc Angels and Bob Dylan???) Hell, I didn't even know Justin knew Charlie! I'm even impressed Justin is in the same company as Charlie... When I saw them perform on Ellen, I was hyped Charlie was on there. So I had to listen to this guy.. and Justin, I guess.

Disney alum or not, yes he was! He's got talent; there's not a doubt about that. And here's Charlie, Doyle Bramhall and the Arc Angels: Charlie and Bob:
