She was Alright for the time period back in the day.after Prince turned Her out then She loosen up a bit.they had a real Good Chemistry Musically IMHO except for that Dreadful Rainy Day Song "Arms of Orion"? YIKES!!! the kind of John Tesh would over do on the Piano.i liked some of the stuff She did with LA&Babyface&the Kenny Roger Duet was cool as well.but after the 80's I forgot all about Her almost.

I've always liked Sheena Easton.Unlike most of Prince's female associates, she could actually sing.I still remember in 1981,hearing her debut hit "Morning Train (9 To 5)".She was so innocent then, like Celine Dion is now. Then,a few years later, she's doing songs like "Strut" and "Sugar Walls"...lol...

Her 1988 album 'The Lover In Me' is excellent. There are two kickass Prince tracks---"101" and "Cool Love"---plus some of the earliest LA and Babyface productions, including the catchy "One Love" and the title track, which became a huge hit. There's even a song produced by Angela Winbush.

I don't know why her version of Eternity ( far better that Chaka's one imo) hasn't been a huge hit, it's beautiful, & I remember Machinary and this telephone song...

I've never heard Sheena's version of "Eternity".I think it appeared on her 1987 album 'No Sound But A Heart',which was never released in the U.S.

'No Sound But A Heart' is available on www.amazon.com now - and not as an import. Moreover, Eternity was also released on the Singles Collection, which I believe was also on EMI America.

Thanks for the info,I'll have to check it out.Back in 87/88,I remember hearing that the album had been shelved in the U.S.,I'm glad to see it's easy to find these days.

The album was 'Do You' released in 1985 (EMI America
SJ-17173)

Track list:

Do It For Love
Don't Break My Heart
Magic Of Love
Don't Turn Your Back
Jimmy Mack
Can't Wait Till Tomorrow
Young Lions
Kisses
Money Back Guarantee
When The Lightning Strikes Again

It appears to have been reissued in 2000 on One Way Records and it certainly looks as if it is available on www.amazon.com

As to what it's like, I haven't a clue, (but I've never liked anything she's done!)
