Soundgarden Confirms Reunion January 2, 2010 Soundgarden have officially announced that they are to reform, having announced the news via their new website Soundgardenworld.com, as well as through band frontman Chris Cornell’s official Twitter page. The message reads “The 12-year break is over & school is back in session. Sign up now. Knights of the Soundtable ride again! soundgardenworld.com The band have not toured or played together since the split 12 years ago in 1997 due to tensions between band members. Speaking to NME Chris Cornell stated that “When Soundgarden broke up, my discussions with the rest of the band was ‘We have to have an agreement that we will never tour Soundgarden – Soundgarden will never exist – without it being a unanimous decision and that everyone who was in the band is in the band’,” So after 12 long years it looks like Soundgarden are finally back. It is yet to be known whether the band will work on a new album or not, but hopefully we should start hearing about possible tour or festival dates soon. http://www.rocksins.com/2...form-2881/ [Edited 1/2/10 17:22pm]

Thank God, I guess Cornell had to really hit bottom w/ that shitty Timbaland album to see the light I wouldn't mind him being w/ Audioslave either, as long as they went back to the sound of their first album which I liked a lot. Just glad he's back in a band, love that dude's voice!

Isn't it crazy how these ego maniacs ruin a great thing because they gotta do solo shit? 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I wonder if this means Matt Cameron is leaving Pearl Jam. Kinda sounds that way.

Or imagine Soundgarden with PJ touring together! Just come to Czech Republic Yeah, that would be great. I have not seen them together since Lolapalooza 1992.

I just received an e-mail from Soundgardens website saying," Thanks to all for signing up. Stay tuned for more details! Loudest of Love - Ben, Chris, Kim, and Matt."
I guess that answers my previous question about whether Matt Cameron was in or not. I can't wait to see this tour. I am attending night school right now so I may have to travel to catch them on a weekend. I am sure it will be worth it. I have not seen them live since 1992. I did see Audioslave 5 times while they were together. Something told me to go see them every time I could. Chris has one of the most incredible voices live, right up there with Axl Rose in my opinion. [Edited 1/22/10 12:53pm]

Thanking for sharing receipt confirmation on an email from the band. If they should play LA in the months to come, I'm going to right there.
