Sexual Harrassment - We Want Prince

SoulAlive let me know about this track a while back and i just recently found it on youtube.

Far better than that "we all want to be prince" track that everyone was posting up.
You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

These guys were huge Prince fans lol Their 1983 debut album sounds alot like Prince's 1980/81 music. It contains the underground club hits "I Need A Freak" and "K-I-S-S-I-N-G".

"We Want Prince" was released as a 12" single in 1985 but as far as I know, they never released a second album.

I already had "I Need A Freak" but someone sent me a download of that album and I was disappointed when I opened it and "We Want Prince" wasn't on it.

I like all the songs but I was disappointed that "We Want Prince" wasn't on it. I've been looking for that song ever since it was released. A local band called Non-Stop used to perform it sometimes so for years I thought it was their song. I had been looking under the wrong name all these years until you told me it was Sexual Harrassment years later. That's alright though because I'm going to record that motherfucker tonight. Now if I can just get my hands on that "Do It (Let Me See You Shake)" 12 Inch by The Barkays. Somebody needs to either post it on youtube or put a download on one of the blogs. lol

I can hear a sample of "Erotic City" in that song.

Down here in Mississippi, it wasn't underground at all. It was very popular on the radio and in the skating rinks (probably the clubs too if I had been old enough to get into them at the time). I think it was popular everywhere since it has appeared on compilation CDs, it just wasn't one of those worn out songs that has played to death for years.

There's a lot of younger orgers on the org so naturally a lot of them haven't heard "I Need A Freak". We remember the song well because we're some old motherfuckers. lol

Do you remember when KSOL used to play entire albums at midnight? If it was an album that I was interested in,I would stay up late and have my tape recorder ready lol I remember on Thanksgiving night 1982,they played Prince's '1999' album in its entirety.Damn I miss that station!

I'm sorry, I love 80s music to death, but that is just really bad music. That "We Want Prince" song is lacking in originality. How they got away with that sample and P not suing them, I'll never know. What label were they on?

This song is so obscure,I don't think that Prince was even aware of it back then lol It didn't get much radio airplay.

I really enjoyed their debut album.I was hoping they would create another good album but in the end, they were simply a novelty act.In retrospect, they paved the way for all those other Prince soundalike bands (Dreamboy,Ready For The World, etc).
