Altho' it was nice to see legends like Tony Bennett, Barbara Streisand, Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole, they looked out of place, maybe they were there coz they missed the boat the first time, or Q and Lionel just wanted to mix in the old with the new.

I wouldn't expect to see MADONNA or PRINCE there, they also missed the boat in 1985, but so many stars who became stars after the 1985 version - WHITNEY and MARIAH most notably, should've been there, and even tho' I'm not a fan of country music, wouldn't it have been natural to see GARTH BROOKS there, doing Kenny Rogers part?

And fans of theirs or not, the sheer star power of BRITNEY, TIMBERLAKE, CHRISTINA, BEYONCE, JAY-Z and RIHANNA was sorely missing.

Overall, this version could've been so much bigger and better.

The best way to hear Janets part is to have headphones/earphones on. She pretty much whispers it, but you can hear her vibrato at the end of every line. I just wish the would have turned her vocals up or something. They did her wrong

I don't think she whispers it. It's the person that mixed it that did a horrible job of putting both parts together. You're right I can hear her vibrato too. She holds the last note of each line long. Plus you can separate Janet's tone from MJ's. The thing is they sound too much alike. So putting the vocals together was a bad idea anyway.

No....Janet whispers and has been doing that for years. You're right though, the engineer should have done a better job in the mix.

Well, if "everyone" kills you with it, that means that people have mentioned it. Here is what kills me about certain fans. You get so wrapped up into the artist, that you can't see their faults. As much as I am a fan of Michael, I will be the first to admit that his biggest problem was his always trying to top, "Thriller". He could not get that out of his mind and it showed in his music there after. Every cd that Janet has put out since, "Control", has had at least one track in which you need subtitles to understand what she is saying....Example..."The Body That Love's You". Great song, you just cannot understand what is being sung.

Janet doesn't whisper. I know she has her faults and I'm not scared to call her out on it but vocals aren't one of them. I think you'd have to be a fan to truly appreciate her vocals in her music. Most people just listen to a few of her songs and automatically assume she's this horrible singer that whisper when that's totally not true.

Janet's whispery vocals have been a consistent complaint from fans for a while now. She doesn't often sing with full voice like she did on All For You and (to a lesser extent) Damita Jo.

In WATW, though, it's clearly the mix that's at fault.

That's the REAL question. Where was Brandy, Monica, Jazzmine Sullivan? So many talented people out there. It wasn't about who had the voice, it was about who had the MONEY.

CORRECT. The songs was a slap in the face to the original.

I'm literally listening to MJ's original demo to the track, and his demo even craps over the remake.

MJ's demo don't even sound demo-ish except for the sound quality. And yes it shits on the remake 110% over.
