Altho' it was nice to see legends like Tony Bennett, Barbara Streisand, Gladys Knight and Natalie Cole, they looked out of place, maybe they were there coz they missed the boat the first time, or Q and Lionel just wanted to mix in the old with the new.
I wouldn't expect to see MADONNA or PRINCE there, they also missed the boat in 1985, but so many stars who became stars after the 1985 version - WHITNEY and MARIAH most notably, should've been there, and even tho' I'm not a fan of country music, wouldn't it have been natural to see GARTH BROOKS there, doing Kenny Rogers part? And fans of theirs or not, the sheer star power of BRITNEY, TIMBERLAKE, CHRISTINA, BEYONCE, JAY-Z and RIHANNA was sorely missing. Overall, this version could've been so much bigger and better. I watched the video after reading this thread and I was still shocked by this mishmash of atrociousness.  I'll donate for the laughs I got out of this dreck.

You get so wrapped up into the artist, that you can't see their faults. As much as I am a fan of Michael, I will be the first to admit that his biggest problem was his always trying to top, "Thriller". He could not get that out of his mind and it showed in his music there after. Every cd that Janet has put out since, "Control", has had at least one track in which you need subtitles to understand what she is saying....Example..."The Body That Love's You".
