"Freak Like Me" was actually the top single of 2002 in the UK, performed by Sugababes with Gary Numan sample. Still no credit for Bootsy Collins I'd Rather Be With You on melody.

Last I saw of Adina was with Warren G "Whats Love Got To Do WIth It?".

the Bootsy thing is just like ALicia Keys jacking James Brown's "It's a Mans World" with no Credit.typical Industry practices.

I believe he has a writing credit (Along with George Clinton etc), it's moreso no verbal credit, always introduced as a cover of "Adina Howard and Gary Numan...".

It's not like Prince's lack of actual credit on "Modernaire". biggrin

That's just an in-joke with Maxxx and I. He was saying Prince co-wrote it and I was arguing against it and finding the evidence to clear him of all "Modernaire" blame. biggrin

Oh ya'll don't like Adina. What sup with dat??? lol

I remember her followup album Welcome To Fantasy Island, released in 1997 and the leadoff single "T-shirt And Panties". The CD went no where. As a matter of fact, in late 1998 while in Tower Records, this lady came up to me and asked me could I find the album for her{I wasn't a Tower Records clerk..but I guess she felt compelled to ask}. I went to her section and the CD wasn't even there. It had gone out of print just that quick.

Well, I don't care if ya'll don't like ole Adina I like her lol

I get asked every so often to help people out in the CD section when at the store I work at while on break. I'm usually happy to do it!

As for Adina, I heard on VH1 WATN? that the Cd was never released, which I always kind of thought was not accurate. But does it make any sense to pull the album off sleves when you can still get her first CD? I really liked the "Freak (And You Know It)". It combined club and R&B and was real hot! I would have liked to get that album. I've looked on Ebay with no luck. Anyone know where I can get it for sure (not a burned copy but the real thing)?

I'm not sure if I really care too much about her, but I think if she tried to make another hit, it could work.

You're right Mistermaxx after research, I found out that the 1997 CD by hers didn't get released, but I could have sworn that it was out. Maybe I was looking at a CD single of something.

Yea man, I guess I have a record store clerk look on my face or something, cause 70% of the time when I'm in a store going through cds someone will come up to me and ask me a question or say..."excuse me do you work here"? For the most part, I can field their questions.
