La Toya Jackson (pictured) is hoping to be the next judge on American Idol following the departure of Simon Cowell. The 53-year-old singer-songwriter says she would jump at the chance of replacing the acid-tongued Cowell on the show.

According to reports, Jackson had already been angling for a spot guest-judging on the show after meeting American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe at a party in the Bel Air home of Kathy Hilton.

Now La Toya is rumored to want a bigger role in the show. "I would love to be a judge on American Idol," she said. "I would love to have a chance for the public to get to know the real me. I would be thrilled."

I seriously wonder if they'll continue with American Idol, now that Simon is leaving. They probably will, but it just won't be the same without Simon and his wise-ass comments.

She'll never be on it. She's just putting that out there in hopes of getting a job later this year (remember that auditions start in the summer). It won't happen, thank God.

If she was going to replace someone, she would have done better by wanting to replace Paula.

If they hire a Jackson to replace Simon, I think Tito would be a great replacement. Those studio scenes on the reality show were funny as hell.

If Paula was a judge on a SINGING CONTEST, you know Toya's crazy & deranged ass shouldn't be considered a shock.
