When she is recalling those moments, I think they are specific events that are really personal to her... so no idea!!

Moments Of Pleasure is indeed a very personal song of Kate's and so has references to events in her life that we can only guess about. I've no idea what 'George the Wipe' is about. Lovely song tho', however i'm not sure why it was released as a single, there were far more obvious hits on that album. Eat The Music and Why Should I Love You? would have been better choices.

admit , I like the album ... i think the Prince track is one of the weakest on it ... still listening to it now ...

and some of u have said in other posts/forums ... that it is not her best album ... I think i have "the sensual world" one ... its just gathering dust ... never listened to it ... guess i have to get it out ... damn i miss my cd player in my car ... !!

The Sensual World is a great album, but then i don't think she's made a bad album. I like The Red Shoes, always have. I've never understood why people are so quick to dismiss it.

well - I will have to listen to it then ...!!!

I really got my moneys worth i feel on "the red shoes" ... i have listened to it quite alot in the car (when my cd player was functioning ... )

I really like the lyrics... "dont want your bullshit ...just want your sexuality" ... "some moments of pleasure " ... etc ... still do like it ... brings back so many memories for myself ... i can only imagine what Kate Bush was thinking ...

Moments of Pleasure:

This song is Kate's tribute of several of her friends who've passed away. Murph is Alan Murphy, her guitarist who died in 1993(?) of AIDS. Bill is Bill Duffield, the lighting technician for The Tour of Life, who died in an accident while setting up for the tour. "Teddy" is the late John Barratt, assistant engineer at Abbey Road Studios during the recording sessions for "Never for Ever". Bubba is for Gary Hurst (dancer in '79 tour), Maureen is Kate's aunt [YS, WW]. No one (except Kate, as far as I know - [SB]) knows who anyone else is in this song, especially "George the Wipe". The verse about the "balcony in New York" refers to her meeting of Michael Powell, director of the film "The Red Shoes".

I think to fully appreciate 'The Red Shoes' you have to watch 'The Line, The Cross & The Curve'

As much as i love Kate (she is my no.1, afterall) I always found The Line, The Cross And The Curve to be somewhat embarrasing. The one Kate Bush item i could happily live without. The Rubberband Girl video is cool, tho'.

I love 'The song of Solomon'. I like allot of the tracks on that album but that one song stands head and shoulders above all the others. In fact it's so deep and emotional I'd say it's one of the best songs ever by a solo female.

I think 'Rubber band girl' is lots of fun and ‘Why should I love you?’ is fantastic.

Kate Bush is so underrated. But why even though she can do some beautiful like 'Running up that hill' and 'Breathing' do I count 'Babooshka' as my favourite. It's just a funny novelty song in comparison but I can't get enough of it. I play it repeat until my parents crack.
