Fans of Mariah Carey’s latest album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel will be able to fall in love with it all over again when a remixed edition of the project is released next year.


Carey’s manager Chris Lighty revealed the release month via Twitter on Saturday: “Listen Memoirs remix lp february…no date set working on Target exclusive,” he wrote.

The as-yet-untitled LP, which producer Tricky Stewart describes as more of a “features” album, will include reworked versions of every song on Memoirs with the possibility of all-new material.

“We wanted to do an album that was really personal, and if you love Mariah Carey, you can put it on and listen to it all day,” Stewart said, “but at the same time, if you like the hot Mariah when she’s doing the features, we want to give people that option too, so that they can put on whichever one they choose.”

Featured guests already on board include Trey Songz (“Inseparable”), R. Kelly (“Betcha Gon’ Know”), T-Pain (“Candy Bling”), Gucci Mane (“Obsessed” and “H.A.T.E.U.”), Big Boi (“H.A.T.E.U.”), and OJ Da Juiceman (“H.A.T.E.U.”).

i ended up really really liking this album. and in the past i think Mariah had some great remixes. changing the song structure, different lyrics, making it a whole new song. but seems like this time around it's going to be a hot mess.

just saying, I'm sure they had to commission Mariah's classic remixes way ahead of time for her maxi CD singles (a format I don't think they want to bother with), so ordering remixes for release on LP shouldn't make that much of a difference - other than one's own opinion about the current Mariah era.

I'm sorry, but this sounds like a desperate attempt to repackage her album, which has seriously underperformed compared to her previous albums. If they didn't like what they released, they should have waited to release the album until they had something decent to release in the first place.

Have you forgotten that her singles always used to get remixes, and now stores no longer carry CD singles (by anyone)?

I wish she were still doing dance remixes.

I have quite a bit of her remixed singles.
