Singer Lady Gaga cancelled an Indiana concert appearance last night (Jan. 14) after collapsing backstage due to exhaustion and dehydration. "An hour before the show I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing," she posted on Twitter. Paramedics diagnosed her with a regular heartbeat, she said.

The performance, at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind., has been rescheduled for Jan. 26.

Lady Gaga is in the midst of her national "Monster Ball" tour which began Nov. 27 in Montreal. The next scheduled date is tomorrow (Jan. 16) in Atlantic City, then two dates in Connecticut and four shows at New York's Radio City Music Hall next week are all the remains of the North American leg of the tour. A three month run of European dates begins Feb. 18 in the U.K.

"I am so devastated," she later posted on Twitter. "I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat: I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort.

"I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me."

She's supposed to be on Oprah Live today. Wonder if she will still perform. This may be the first time I've seen a full song by her.

how anyone in their right mind thought MJ was capable of performing all of his scheduled dates obviously had the money blinkers on...watched the clip for "this is it" for the first time tonight,

That's dedication. An artist really has to have a passion to perform through all of that. I hope all she needs is a little rest.

Touring is not easy. Never get proper rest as you move location to locationn, yet you give off so much energy every gig.

Even if one show lasts shorter than most people's day job-- try doing your job in front of thousands of a paying audience while looking good, lol. My heart also goes out to strippers.

the show was constructed so he wouldn't be doing that much...while I haven't seen This Is It, I have a friend who was involved in the production of the show and he shared that there was going to be a lot of "non-mj" stuff going on to "fill" the show up.

Hope she's alright. Like many performers, Gaga has obviously been over-exerting herself. She should probably take it easy for now.

Yeah, I wasn't critiquing Oprah for having Gaga on her show. I was criticizing her staff for releasing that horrid picture of her.

I'm watching the performance now off the DVR. What songs are these?

Seems her top came undone and was threatening to fall off.

I can't say I'm surprised. She has lost a lot of weight siunce she first came on the scene. And watching some of her tour videos, the energy is nowhere where it used to be at when she first came out. Bless her, I hope she gets some rest and gets better soon.

Not the first time she's cancelled. She was supposed to be a support act for my friends band last year... cancelled at the 11th hour, I think she'd been to a festival and "partied" too hard

She also cancelled the DC date on her last tour and later rescheduled it. I don't like to gossip but the rumor is out there she uses coke. She has admitted to having a drug problem in the past which she claimed to have over come, but in my experience all too often people relapse into drug use.
I find her apology a little over the top and over dramatic. C'mon who cries for hours because they cancelled a concert. It almost seems like she's hiding something.

She needs to learn from Madonna to whom she's often compared. One of the reasons Madonna has maintained her career for so long is she stays away from the illegal substances. Maybe I'm narrow minded, but I can't stand people who use coke and other illegal drugs. They make me sick.

I think what people forget is that touring may be brutal, but you have to get prepared for it like anything else, alot of artists now are just going out on these long tours while never have even gigged before, this is why you are seeing things like this, gaga is by far the first to cancel or pass out or suffer from hydration. I know peeps mention the MJ deal that it was too many shows, well, it was too many for someone on medication and doing what he was doing, regardless of "how he looked" its what is inside that matters. No one collapses because their hair looks wrong, they collapse because something inside isnt strong enough for what is going on.

I liked the interview more than the performance. Whatever she was trying to do on top of the car didn't work out too well. I will never understand why she tries to cram in so many bits of songs all the time.

"Bad Romance" better go #1 on the Hot 100. Of all the songs she's released, that is easily the best--it's epic..much more deserving than anybody's "Tik Tok".
