Slave - Shake It Up

For you Scriptgirl. One of my favorite Slave songs that
i used to rock in high school. This is right after Steve Arrington
left to go solo. I believe Danny Webster sings lead on this track.
It still sounds fresh today.

I only have the 45 to Shake it Up with the b side
Rendezvous which sounds pretty good. Must check out
the whole album some day.

Yeah....it's a good one. Mark was on a "hyper-determined funky streak" at the time. They were just comin off the "Visions" album (called a commercial defeat at the time, due it being the first album after the Steves left).....in in the liner notes he sounded cocky about the funk on "Bad Enuff"....hyping upcoming "projects" & such.

Don't get me wrong, I love the early Slave stuff....the first one thru "Stone Jam"....but I always felt that "Bad Enuff", "Visions Of The Lite" and "Unchained At Last" were MONSTER funk output as good as anything from the early daze.

"Dance", "Sweet Thang", Jazzy Lady (12"), "Be My Babe", "You"....all with Mark at the helm....some of the most devastating, bass-laden funk ever released, IMO.

I kind of like this song. I haven't heard it in 4ever. I wouldn't consider myself a Slave fan, but they do have some great songs.
