Because the arabs seem to have a preference for soapy melodramatic over-romantic songs. 99% of arabic lyrics is about how much the guy loves the girl or how beautiful she is and vise-versa so it is not surprising that Lionel is doing well there. On the other hand most of the greek songs are about relationship problems, cheating, heartaches, how much she hates him and how she wants to revenge him lol.
