Love - "My Little Red Book" Love - Love (1966) I just caught wind of this album a few weeks back, and it's the featured album on allmusic today. This one's a classic tune from the Bacharach/David catalog, and their take on it is aces! From their self-titled debut album. Love - My Little Red Book (1966) Here's another one I like from that set, a nice psychadelic-ish pop/rock ballad... Softly to Me

Welcome back Dan-tastic.
I thought sure you were aware of the Love/Bacharach connection. Another of their 60s classics... ...Seven & Seven Is Unfortunately, this was the only upload of the original recording I could find. Check it out on Rhapsody or something. The past few allmusic picks have been interesting. Especially the first Johnny Winter release on Columbia. Music for adventurous listeners tA Tribal Records "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Ok, so can someone explain the Love thing to me. I must have played Forever Changes 20 times and keep waiting for the genius that everybody who made me buy the album hears. Sure the songs all have a lot of stuff going on, but what's exactly compelling about it?
I just don't get it. [Edited 1/7/10 18:34pm]

I just don't get it. Then it's just not for you. How do you explain why you like something? You just do. I've never heard anyone refer to them as genius.

Didn't listen to the Winter one...yet!

I just don't get it. [Edited 1/7/10 18:34pm] Well not everything is for everybody. I think it's brilliant simply because of the emotional effect it has on me. If you don't feel the same thing, then it may not be for you. There's something very "LA" about it, which appeals to me since I live there...you know, I;ve been between Clark and Hilldale.
