BTW, the song was written by Eric Hudson and Johntá Austin.
So far, both singles she's released from I Look To You have hit Top 20 R&B ("I Look To You" peaked @ #19 and "Million Dollar Bill" peaked @ #16). IMO, this new single has Top 10 R&B written all over it. Yeah, it's that good.

"I Look To You" could be played on virtually any radio format. "Million Dollar Bill" not so much. You're right it part of the strategy. But, she was making a comeback and to me, that song was not a good song to come back with. He wrote the music for and produced "Flashing Lights" by Kanye, as well as a list of others... I am very proud of that young man.  "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. I do agree with you though. I guess that explains why radio was serviced "Million Dollar Bill" about a week or 2 after they serviced "I Look To You". See, if it were me, I would have done something similar to what MJ did years ago when he first released, Dangerous. When he released "Remember The Time", he had released a house mix to it. When that was played in the clubs, people went nuts! Whitney needed that shot in the arm,(no pun intended). People were calling this a comeback, will give us a comeback record. Don't give me the same old Whitney, singing that old ballad shyt. Number one, her voice is cannot handle that anymore and second, the song was boring....Meaning it was no, "I'll always love you",(even though, I hate her version). I would have went with "Call You Tonight" or "Like I Never Left". | |
