Daydreaming for me. I like the title track, A Man's Pride and Love is a Game. The only track I like from Color of Success is Don't Wait For Me and the ending of Oaktree.

Heres 2 from "Guaranteed":-

"Meant to be together"

"Who's that girl"

"Meant to be together" is a newjack banger LOL. If you dont like newjack, then you ain't gonna like it. True his personality is not on it much, but I still dig the track though. A few should like it on here, just maybe not Morris Day fans LOL

"Who's that girl" is poppier though and might be towards a few peoples liking on here. Its my personal fav and you can here more of classic Morris on that one I feel.

Gotta give this one to Color of Success (better album, start to finish). But, I'll agree with others that Daydreaming's "Fishnet" and "Love is a Game" are his best singles.

It's funny/sad that Fishnet and Love is a Game (at the time) were the most the members of The Time had played together on record (after three albums) -- Jimmy Jam on keys/bkgd vocals, Terry on bass/bkgd vocals, Morris on vocals/drums, Jellybean on guitar, Monte on bkgd vocals, Jerome on bkgd vocals (as I recall, Jesse was the only one not on those songs in some capacity).

COLOR OF SUCCESS

Without a doubt.

I agree with whoever wrote that all of the songs worked well together from track to track.

My favorite is probably THE CHARACTER. I also enjoy Don't Wait 4 Me and the title track a great deal.

The COLOR OF SUCCESS album probably most represents the sequel to ICE CREAM CASTLES, moreso than any of the other records by THE FAMILY or other TIME players, as the Morris character did not miss a beat. The album's narrative made it clear that THE TIME were longer a band, and that the album represented MD's solo debut following the breakup.

It appears that Morris is simply just a victim of society who must play a character in order to be loved.

Morris Day is a special kind of actor, in that he clearly performs as his outrageous character each time he appears, no matter the context of his appearance, like Pee Wee Herman. MD continued to play his character on COLOR OF SUCCESS. This is also likely in part due to why GUARANTEED has not been well recieved, as Morris seemed to distance himself from the Morris character who had just appeared in the GB movie 2 years prior. It seems taht rather than GUARANTEED, Morris would have been better off releasing COROPORATE WORLD. At the same time, one can see how MD would have wanted to break away from the role.
