And at least 80 other songs that ain't lol They diversified their portfolio. They weren't Black Sabbath nor did they need be. In fact Queen would be insulted to be pigeonholed. Freddie in particular. Just saying.

in the 70's they were really heavy True but I wouldn't call them a metal band, even then, they were diverse in the '70s. "Somebody to Love" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" proved that.

May's Guitar, Deacons Bass and Taylors Drums are the best blend of any band ever, and something people never talk about are the harmonies, sure Freddie was an amazing vocalist, but people forget that Roger Taylor is doing the high parts in Bohemian Rhapsody.
Interesting statement. Q: Name a Rock band with the same or better musical skills that only has 3 members. A: King's X (my opinion of course that i'm prepared to back up) Not a knock on Queen but a statement like that (not indicated as an opinion) begs a challenge. Music for adventurous listeners tA Tribal Records [Edited 1/10/10 12:19pm] Well anything can be challenged, but i feel Queen member for member are the overall best at their positions and better at blending that togetherness. I mean how many times have we seen "all star bands" thrown together with shit results, example, Coverdale/Page. Also in terms of harmonies, though people might not wanna admit it, but STYX with Dennis DeYoung,Tommy Shaw and James Young were on a level of Queens harmonies, and Tommy has got one of the highest ranges i have heard from a male. Exactly Queen cant be labeled, and if they are labeled you can only do it for maybe certain songs, Queen was a full bag of tricks, people tend to dog them for the 80's but there is some fucking gems on that 80's work, people dismiss it because they look back to the 70's work and that "label" they gave them and then they are let down by the 80's work, i always liked their 80's work, but then again when i get a new album from an artist that has recorded before, its like album one again, to compare this and that, is just always gonna get you the same result.
