Rick has a new live cd of Street Songs.

Yeah, it's just the second (the live one) disc of the Street Songs Deluxe Edition.

Very good concert in Long Beach, California. This is the concert that should have been released on DVD rather than the Germany concert.

I wonder....was this the same tour Prince was on, or was it earlier? I forget.

That heffer sings just good live as she does in the studio....even on fast songs which is rare because lots of artists are usually out of breath live from dancing around, but Teena burned it up just like she was in the studio.

Prince was on Rick's "Fire It Up" tour the early part of the year 1980. The "Street Songs" tour was the summer of 1981.

Some of those deluxe edition 2CDs have just had the 2nd 'rarities' CD released as a standalone album. Marvin Gaye's What's Going On bonus dic has just been released as well.

I gotta get me that deluxe CD version. The only CD copy of Street Songs I have is couples with Throwin Down - one of Motown's 2-on-1 series back in the mid-Eighties. I actually just heard the 12" version of Super Freak (I know, 28 years too late) when I watched Little Miss Sunshine on DVD a couple weeks ago. It is blazing off the hook! Gotta get that CD....

The version you have is worth quite a bit of money right now. Only because it has Throwin' Down on the cd. I have sen that cd go for as low as $50 or $60 and as high at $150 on ebay. On amazon, they are selling it for $90, so I would hold on to that one for sure.

I recommend the deluxe edition, though. That 12in version of "Super Freak" takes the song to another level. Same thing for the instrumental of "Give it to me Baby".

This is a must-have for funk fans! It's one of my favorite live albums.
