This is just dollars and cents (sense) to her. She's getting paid and to some people, Qaddafi is not a terrorist but a victim of western imperialism. I remember a time in the early 90s I think it was, that Farrakhan had received or allegedly received a billion dollars from Kadaffi (fuck how do you spell his name?). It was to help impoverished black people and american muslims or something and the US gov't wouldn't let him bring the money back or some shit. Farrakhan has never had a bad thing to say about Kaddafy. I also believe he was at one time trying to unify the various African nations. Anyway....maybe Beyonce is sympathetic to his cause, either that or she just saw a cool million coming her way. Shit he probably paid cash! confused

you stoopit! falloff wink

Muammar Abu Minyar al-Gaddafi

Wikipedia says:
Because of the lack of standardization of transliterating written and regionally pronounced Arabic, Gaddafi's name has been transliterated in many different ways into English and other Latin alphabet languages. An article published in the London Evening Standard in 2004 lists a total of 37 spellings of his name, while a 1986 column by The Straight Dope quotes a list of 32 spellings known at the Library of Congress.[84] This extensive confusion of naming was used as the subject for a segment of Saturday Night Live's Weekend Update in the early 1980s.[citation needed]

In 1986, Gaddafi reportedly responded to a Minnesota school's letter in English using the spelling "Moammar El-Gadhafi".[85] The title of the homepage of algathafi.org reads "Welcome to the official site of Muammar Al Gathafi".[86]

"Muammar Gaddafi" is the spelling used by Time magazine, BBC News, the majority of the British press and by the English service of Al-Jazeera.[87] The Associated Press, CNN, and Fox News use "Moammar Gadhafi". The Edinburgh Middle East Report uses "Mu'ammar Qaddafi" and the U.S. Department of State uses "Mu'ammar Al-Qadhafi". The Xinhua News Agency uses "Muammar Khaddafi" in its English reports.

How did u come to that conclusion? I think they work hard for their money and party hard. Sure, their lifestyle is a bit extravagant, but if I was worth millions like they are, mine would be too.

I don't know about Jay, but I've seen and heard about Beyonce donating to people and the less fortunate around Houston.

I really don't see the point of this thread. Whatever his personal history, Qadaffi recently paid compensation for the Lockerbie victims, revealed stuff about Khan's (Pakistan's) illegal nuclear trading and signed a dozen of deals with Italy, France, the UK and others,,, in short he took the vast majority of the steps required by the international community (meaning the west) and in response Libya is no longer considered a pariah state. Sure he is a dictator but that's the norm in the arabic world,In the end of the day Libya has the highest GDP per person in Africa and also the highest among non-gulf Arab countries.
Beyonce is an entertainer and I see nothing wrong entertaining Mr. Qadaffi when he is accepted by the leaders of most western nations, I guess none would complain if she was entertaining Israel's current prime-minister or the Saudi leader.

P.S. That said I'm shocked of Qadaffi's taste in music
