I saw a restrospective about Elvis last night.
I didn't realize how good he was in his prime--when he was just singing and playing guitar. I think his downfall was when he started going "Hollywood." He should never had gotten into the movies. He just should have stayed a musician/singer.. and sort of morphed--back...to more a band type thing like when he started out. But man.. as he got older... those outfits. Somebody should have just told the guy: you look like a caricature of yourself--a cartoon character! It's time to go back to what you started out to be--a musician with a great voice, great performance quality with a band... not some.. I don't even know how to describe it. He just should have stuck to basics.. and he might even be alive today. Look at Willie Nelson? How old is Willie? It's just sad what happened to Elvis the same way it all happened to Michael Jackson--and so many others where the entertainment business eats them up.. Anyway.... it was good show. And Happy Belated Birthday, Elvis. He has a fine looking family. Too bad he died so young--not to be able to see them grow up.. [Edited 1/9/10 6:49am] | |
