nod Everytime she starts a new album,we always hear silly rumors about the type of album it will be.

Madonna's doing a rock album! lol

When she began recording 'Hard Candy',people were saying that she was "going hip hop" falloff

falloff

Guetta is good at mixing and mashing things up, so it may actually sound kind of fun this time around, but yeah--it's going to be more of the same. It'll just probably sound better this time.

The description : Sources say the album will incorporate rock anthems, rap and club beats.
... says to me that its more of the same. lol

I never believe those early descriptions lol The finished album will sound much different than the way it's being described now.

Her last 3 or 4 albums were so boring, I can't imagine what she has in store for the next one. The problem isn't the 'sound' or 'direction' she's taking with each album, although honestly I can't tell the difference between the recent ones, but that the music is derivative and she doesn't sound like she's putting any effort into it.

and there it is...except you won't hear that from her fans. janet fans are quick to declare her turkey's dead...but old madge fans will cut you before accepting the truth. lol

the vocals on the last two albums (at least) have sounded so dull and lifeless. she's taken that vocal training she got with Evita and turned it into something so bland and unintersting. they sound so phoned in. and her lyrics, especially on Hard Candy are almost embarrassing at times.

I loved when she used to just belt her songs out from the gut. it wasn't the "proper" way to sing, but she imbued the songs with so much life and passion back then.

Rock Opera
Madonna has theater experience (she famously lobbied hard to play Eva Peron in the film version of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical "Evita") but has never really constructed an album based on a narrative (and the disastrous American Life shouldn't count). She could bring in Green Day producer Rob Cavallo to beef up her rock chops and flesh out her own version of American Idiot.

eek you know something's hot when Madonna gets close to it

lol madonna always looks around at the current scene and scoops up whatever is hot atm. david guetta is so in, so she'll use him. i bet she'll have some gaga-sounding tracks too lol

i just hope this album is better than her last few lol those were quite bad and if she makes another mediocre attempt, the album will bomb.

i think a lot of americans are finally tired of her-she hasn't brought out anything new or exciting for years now. and she's been so weird lately lol

lol yeah,Madonna rarely works with "hot" producers.'Hard Candy' is a rare exception. She usually likes to work with under-the-radar producers who aren't exactly topping the charts with their productions.

i don't necessarily mean producers. for example she worked with timberlake, britney, pharrell, timbaland when they were all the buzz...she worked with prince back in the day when he was on top...

honestly it wouldn't surprise me if she worked with gaga soon.

i didn't see the n in prince i thought you were refereing to Stuart Price my mistake.

and Prince wanted her in Graffiti Bridge, so i think it was more Prince wanting to work with her than the other way around. she didn't like sitting copped up in MPLS and thought the script sucked so backed out.

It will be more dance, Guetta was already confirmed by a reliable fan on a M forum. I doubt she will record a complete album with him, and of course the songs will be varied, it's not like all of HC was urban beats, "Voices" or "Miles Away" was completely different from the rest of the album, and it also included some old school stuff.

And Stuart said Madonna is always about going to a DJ and singing over their "best music they have", it's true 90% of her collaborators were either hitmakers, either DJs who remixed her past singles. People give a lot of credit to Madonna for "discovering" Shep, Orbit and Stuart, but truth is, they submitted remixes to her years before they produced an album, all of them were a case of "OK don't know who else to work with, let's try to expand on these remixes". Same thing happened with Oakenfold last year and now with Guetta.

Maybe she's reusing some of his songs from the 2004 musicals, like she did with Devil... & Voices on Hard Candy. He won't be defining the sound though.

oh god, I hope so. aside from needing to imbue the vocals with a little more passion and charm, she needs to get back to writing with actual songwriters, instead of producers.

Well the words were always her own, Patrick Leonard did melodies, like that of "Oh Father". With "Frozen" she was already doing the self-referencing, so in a way, it doesn't matter if it's Patrick Leonard, it's not like they can do something new together other than harkening back to the old days. Also, Justin and Pharrell are songwriters too, just like Joe Henry, it wasn't like COADF where Madonna threw the words over Stuart's instrumentals alone, it shows.

Ludacris Says Madonna is His Dream Duet Partner'

Ludacris' forthcoming album 'Battle of the Sexes,' is a chance for both men and women to be heard. "I have a couple of guest appearances from different female MCs and female entertainers and a lot of the subject matter has to do with relationships from a male perspective and female perspective," he tells The BoomBox. "There's never been an album where you kind of get that and that's what I was going for. So that's really what 'Battle of the Sexes' is all about."

Ludacris does confirm that Monica and Lil' Kim are among the women on there, but he doesn't want to give away too much info yet. "That's the surprise, my friend. I wish I could tell you," he says when asked about some other names.

Okay, we can respect that, we're down to be surprised. But he does give away a couple that aren't on there, including his top choice. And who is his number one female duet partner? "Madonna, but I can tell you that has not happened yet," he says. "Maybe one day soon."

Another one that hasn't happened would be his daughter's top choice. "My daughter is eight years old and I'm forced to listen to Miley Cyrus' 'Party in the U.S.A.' all the time," he says. So he'd score a lot of cool points if he can pull off that meeting. "She hasn't met Miley, but maybe I can make that happen sooner or later." He did however impress his daughter with another of her heroes. "She loves Ciara," he notes. Whether that means Ciara is on the record we'll have to wait until March 9 to find out.

Bob Sinclar (French DJ like David Guetta) also wants to work with her:

http://www.absolumentmadonna.fr/en/

Finally, if Madonna decides to continue using a French touch, Bob Sinclar just said he wanted to work with Madonna….

”I’d love to make an album with Madonna! I already did a remix, now I’m waiting for a phone call… It’s true that I don’t choose my featurings according to how famous they are. I only do it with people I appreciate and who are in sync with the music I make. I don’t need to make duos with big stars to make big hits.”

Uptown magazine printed that early 'Graffiti Bridge' script (dated September 1987),the same script that Prince showed to Madonna, and it is absolutely HORRIBLE disbelief I can't believe that Prince was serious about turning that crap into a movie!

Madonna ready to rock and rap

Madonna is set to take a new rap/rock direction on her next album.
The 'Celebration' singer is working with both rap producer A-Trak and rock producer Brendan O'Brien - who has previously worked with Pearl Jam - and attempting to merge the two genres on the follow up to her hip-hop influenced 2008 LP, 'Hard Candy'.
A-Trak, real name Alain Macklovitch, told the Daily Star newspaper: 'It's my production, turned into song structure - halfway between rap and electronic and whatever else I listen to.'
Madonna, 51, is said to be set on making a track to match the success of Run DMC's groundbreaking 80s hit 'Walk This Way', which defined the rap/rock genre - and went on to spawn acts such as Korn, Limp Bizkit and Kid Rock in the 90s.
Madonna has a long history of working with hip-hop producers, including Pharrell Williams and Timbaland on 'Hard Candy', but she is also keen to play up a more guitar-heavy sound after spending time mastering the instrument and insiders say she's working on perfecting a balance between the two.
The resulting album could be released this year.
