The Wayne Johnson Trio , featuring Perri - "Spirit Of The Dancer"/ "Evrybody's Painting Pictures" ...
Over the years, Guitarist /composer Wayne Johnson has been headling his Jazz/Rock trio, while at the same time pursuing a career playing solo acoustic guitar, and acting as the road guitarist for Manhattan Transfer. I like his compostions, especially with the trio -- although they're full of polyrythms, odd meters, and changing tempos, the pieces are always fun and engaging , IMO. I especially liked these two pieces he recorded , with harmony vocals by the gospel singing group, PERRI...
