That's The Way I Feel About'Cha [Edited 1/3/10 9:12am] [Edited 1/3/10 9:19am] LOL! I think we all had that painting you mentioned...then a few years later it was the one with the black light and the 12 zodiac positons! Good vids, we couldn't have this conversation without Bobby Womack and Got To Give It Up was the standard at every house party, Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Johnny was a succesful songwriter and producer for Motown before going solo. He released six albums; Hang On In There Baby, Feeling The Magic, Bristol's Creme, Strangers, Free To Be Me and Life & Love (retitled Come To Me, when it was released in the US). His two biggest hits were 'Hang On In There Baby' (R&B #2) and 'Do It To My Mind' (R&B #5). He passed away in March 2004 at the age of 65. [Edited 1/4/10 15:47pm] On the Org since 2005.

vainandy said: I thought you meant hoghead souse.... It's funny 'cause in Philly where I was born that's what souse/head cheese looked like, but here in S. Fla. they make it in a big pot like soup and eat it in a bowl or cup. Time for more music... Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

I know, right? It was like a rite of passage, I'm dating myself terribly but smokes were 50 cents at the corner store back then and had no warning labels. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Ya know growin up everybody around me was always 10, 20 or even 30 years older than me lol, but the beautiful thing was that I never felt like a crumbcrusher/breadsnatcher around them. They all took me in and gave me the best of them. Did your peoples turn u into a DJ too? When my granny would drink Thunderbird or Boones Farm on weekends, she'd always play or ask me 2 play these next 3..... [Edited 1/6/10 17:51pm]

Chile, when my godmother would get her head "mellow" with some Chivas we had to play the same song for her, over and over... mind you, there was no remote control or repeat button back then...we actually had to get up and put the needle back on the record, She would say "play me that number", then she would talk to us girls about life till bedtime. Lawd, how I miss those talks. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Lawd, how I miss those talks. Your godmother and my grandma must've came from the same era,'cause "gettin mellow" or "in my cups" is what she'd say when she was drinkin. I know all about them electric arms, needles and levers that switched from 33"/45". Shit, we went from that 2 rewind, stop, play, fast forward, pause,90 min tapes and puttin tissues in the top of old cassettes so's we could hold down play/record when we made our "mixes" lol Oh and don't let mama ask me 2 play Ella Fitzgerald, Sara Vaughn, or Bille Holliday lol'cause everytime she did, her eyes would close, she'd smile and start talikn about her childhood in New York back in the era of The Savoy, Birdland and Smalls Paradise.....This one always makes me thnk about her.....
