I want to hear the full leak of "Another Day" why is R. Kelly (I think that is him) blabbing at the start of a track is supposedly the Lenny Kravitz cameo song. I can't imagine Lenny (dude who normally produces his own music) appearing on a track R. Kelly was involved with. It just doesn't fit for me. However, this was a MJ project, so anything is possible. Perhaps R produced the track and Lenny just played a guitar solo ala Slash in "Black or White?" Anyone know the scoop? hmmm

It's tagged. Sometimes when new songs leak, the person that leaked it (mostly DJ's) tags it like that. You may hear a song that leaked and hear another artist on it that says "wasup, this is (insert artist name) and you're listening to (insert DJ/radio/mixtape name)"

Question: Do you think Motown toned the Jackson 5 act down to appeal to a wider audience? Having seen footage of Michael and his brothers before Motown they were really raw, so do you think Motown and then the move to Epic made them too polish and slick, which I think took away from Michael latter performances.

i think so..i preferred em "raw"

[Edited 1/2/10 9:11am]

I think Motown "polished" and "popped" them up quite a bit. Not that I think that was a bad thing. I think that had a lot to do with MJ making the decision later, that he didn't just want to be an R & B singer. But for me, I loved the "raw" and can't get enough of that vintage clip. I always thought they did a fantastic job singing that cover.

Thank you for clearing that up for me ViintageJunkiie. Given that, now my question is, does that mean R leaked it? Because Lenny has a song called "Storm" with nearly the exact same lyrics. What is the story of this leaked track? (And hopefully the full version will come very soon. Me want!!!) biggrin

It seems like it's going to be included on a mixtape R. Kelly and some DJ is hosting, that's all.

"Another Day" is from the Invincible sessions

I think Michael and Lenny did it together, then Lenny reworked it, retitled it, and released it on Baptizm

"Storm", by the way, is my favorite Lenny Kravitz song

LEAKED NEW SONG SNIPPET

Michael Jackson feat. Lenny Kravitz - Another Day

excited

Don't know about the song based on a short snippet, not really my sound I guess. But the vocals are killer indeed. The delivery and the melody in the verses remind me of Prince's 'Boom'. Do you think Prince might have heard it and stole it? I think he had an obsession with MJ. Or was is the other way around? confuse

Relax guys, just kidding. lol

Anyway, it often amazed me how this often fragile looking man with this soft voice could sing up such a storm.

Billie Jean is not in your Top 50?

No really. I am not into his hits. THe bigger the hit, the less I like it cause it´s been way too overplayed, so I hardly listen to these songs, but you can bet I do enjoy it that more when I hear it. I LOOOOOVED hearing Billie Jean on TII. That was one of my favourite moments. lol

I'm another fan that wouldnt have it it my top 50. If it was the first time I heard it I would most likely be able to place it somewhere in the top 50, but its been played to death, and I just cant be objectionable about it. I turn it over whenever I hear it.

Yeah, my sentiments, exactly.

angel345, you´re the first person who put She drives me wild on No.1. I so adore that song. It would definately be one of the songs I´d consider to be No.1. for me.

Yep. One thing I'd love to know is how much Stevie's version differed from the arrangement that Quincy did. I know the version Stevie has performed live prior to MJ's passing is way more jazzy, whereas Quincy seemed to slow it down a bit and make it more smooth.

As to "Another Way", it sounds great. It kinda reminds me of Lenny's own "Believe In Me" from the same time period. And that was my favorite song from "Lenny".

Nah...I'm an oldschool MJ fan....I believe that Off The Wall is Mike's best album...And as far as "I Can't Help It," I've probably listened to that song 1 million times...lol....It's still one of his best moments vocally and the fact that Stevie Wonder wrote it takes MJ to a new, sophisticated place...It's simply a beautiful, haunting piece of work...

I love it from the very beginning to the very end. I love the engine-like funky sounds, the synths, its mood. It´s great. I´d love if he did it live. He always just used it a part of it getting me all excited and that turn to another song.
