[Edited 1/16/10 11:10am] We will get through this but I think it will take US honoring his legacy and not allowing HIM to become just...another memory! Michael Jackson was very REAL and a very REAL part of who we are and who we became to be! It is up to US to honor that...because if WE don't...the powers that be...most certainly WON'T!!! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Michael death will always be sad to me , he was sad to me when he was alive as well. It's just best personally that I move on from it and don't think about it long. R.I.P and Michael doesn't belong in the same sentence but it pretty much sank in for me a couple months back that he's not here anymore. He's out of his pain that's all I can say . . I really don't have the words for it [Edited 1/16/10 16:57pm]

It's been almost 7 months and I'm still not used to hearing that. It still makes me sad. I know,it's like the days go on,and I almost forget that he is gone, and then I hear something like this, and it like I very hard slap of reality, and I become very sad. It´s weird to feel like this about someone you didn´t even meet and there are very few who understand this. There´s noone around me who´d understand and it hurts. You feel like you need to talk to someone about this, but you´re only left with the internet (and thank God for at least that). You either felt him or you didn´t. But if you felt him, he was real. Can´t believe that it´s been half a year already. It still hits me when I think about it. I hope to get over it one day, but one thing is for sure - there´ll never be anyone who´ll touch me the way he did. I don´t think anyone will make my jaw drop the way he did. Everything and everyone is so fake, shallow and boring in the show-business and as a person, he meant even more to me. There is nothing weird about your feelings. As you said, "he touched you" as he did me and many other people. I haven't heard of him being spoken in the context of the "late Michael Jackson" but that would shake me a bit if I were to hear it. Since you've mentioned it, I'll be prepared for it. Most of the time I forget (sort of) that he isn't on earth anymore, though at work it's quite difficult because we play his music a lot. But, like someone else, I was sad for Michael when he was alive at times, as well. Though it's extremely sad I am glad that the DJ's are referring to him as the "late Great" because, yes, he was, quite Great. I get my comfort in knowing that one day we will all be "late." It's just that it happened to MJ now, and we weren't ready for it.
I know that in my lifetime I won't be touched in the same way as with Michael because there isn't enough time (unless I live to be 100) and my thing started with MJ when he was a mere child, so no, I don't see it happening in that way. I do admire very few artists (the purple one, is one) but my thing with him started in a different way.

[Edited 1/17/10 10:55am] One reason I don't believe this is because there's a clear picture of him and MJ together. If they never took a picture together, I'd raise my eyebrow. But the guy DOES look like MJ in makeup. No shade

But the guy DOES look like MJ in makeup. No shade Yeah, I know, but he could have easily have someone make him a mask that looks like him. See it is crazy, but I have to say there are few gestures and ways of talking that are just like MJ to me: 0:33 "a criminal. He caused all this..." the way he says the word criminal... 3:15 "and you know what?" - typical MJ pose... 0:16 - the way he leans down is the same as here at 0:14.... Remember, once he said "I have incredible disguises. I can fool my own mother." Sorry, I was just giving all this hoax a thought....but it would be too hard for me to believe he´d do something like that to his family and us. Hey dag, thanks for mentioning Dave Dave. I posted some videos about that a few threads ago, but it wasn't really discussed. I think the notion that MJ was disguised as Dave on Larry King is probably not true, but still verrrry interesting, considering how similar Dave's elocution was to Michael's. Michael Jackson and Roger Troutman in the studio supposedly during the recording of 'Smooth Criminal'.
The guy selling this photo has this to say: This is an ORIGINAL Polaroid photo of Michael Jackson and Roger Troutman during the recording of SMOOTH CRIMINAL (see album credits) in 1986. The photo in Michael's hand is under a separate bid. This is very special and only ONE exists. You will own the ORIGINAL Polaroid and NOT a copy. Both of these men have done amazing things in music and this photo is invaluable and a fabulous collector's item.
I've often wondered what Roger's involvement on the "Bad" album was. IIRC, in the credits to the album, Roger's name is listed in the middle of a group of people who all contributed to the album. But I've never been able to find any solid evidence of what track he might have worked on, he isn't specifically credited as being on any particular track, and I certainly don't hear any vocals from him on anything. Of course, Roger was an insanely good guitarist - is it possible that the funky rhythm guitar breakdown on 'Smooth Criminal' (which has always been my favorite part of my favorite song of my favorite album), is none other than Roger? If so.....that would be a very spooky coincidence for me, as someone who has grown up with both Michael and Zapp/Roger being amongst my absolute favorite artists. I'd be seriously spooked if that is actually Roger playing that part. Aside from Roger's name being in the credits to the album, I've never previously considered what the connection might actually have been until I found this photo. Are there are any guitarists on here that might be able to listen closely to the part from a technical perspective and see if it matches Roger's style and techniques? It certainly sounds like it COULD be him to me - but I'm not a guitar player. |

Could Roget's contribution on one of the early incarnations? "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

It's clear that Roger is holding a guitar in the first pic, so he HAD to have did something musically during this session, even if it's not for Smooth Criminal. Is there any other evidence that they worked together during this era?
