Just out of curiousity, did Berry Gordy screw over Martha and the Vandellas as badly as he did other Motown acts? Timmy, you know I wanna know what you have to say! "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Of course lol
He singled everyone out for his "favorites". Apparently the Marvelettes, Martha and 'em weren't on his list of them. I'll probably post stories tomorrow. Didn't u read the Motown sticky? I think I posted about some troubles other acts had with Motown lol

I read it, but I don't remember anything about Martha being on there. Why weren't they his faves? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

That's a million dollar question lol Nah I think he felt some artists weren't pop enough to crossover. Though Martha and the Vandellas had a hip white audience (mostly young white audiences), I think he wanted his acts to appeal to white adults and because of the Supremes, I guess he felt other groups didn't have a Diana Ross so they were ignored.
