BBC Radio 2 Documentary On Smokey Robinson Did anybody else hear this?
You can listen again for the next seven days, here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/ipla...e/b00pq8f0 It's all about Smokey's work as a record producer. They play some original multitracks and fade various tracks in and out. It's fascinating. | |

Thanx Did you listen to it? At work This is very thorough,,,,and alot of trivia took me by surprise(Yep, the Kim Carnes being one of them ). BTW, I'd suggest you to track down their documentary on Stevie Wonder(it aired in 1977),,,,,trust me, being a constant listener to their documentaries, its safe to say this one take the cake and its recipe One of the best moments were when Stevie sang and played piano for the interviewer to explain the early stages of recording his hits. It was sort of sad at the end though, when Smokey was talking about how great ProTools is! After an hour of amazing musicianship, I couldn't believe he was saying how great computers are. It made me think about his artificially un-lined and stretched face.
