I think you have to take more things into consideration. Mary is pretty much done with her heyday. It is indeed a double standard that women get away with shit a man can't but you can't even see a blow or slap in the video shown. The double standard is amazing. Why is there no public outcry over this? Many females are celebrating her smacking and punching her husband - but if the tables were turned he would've been arrested. Eff the bullshit, arrest Mary Jane Blige for assault. I hope that justice prevails and her new album suffers as a result of this, hell it is good anyway, her last three albums have been a bit tepid - she has lost her edgyness on record. BeBe Winans and Charlie Sheen are both accused of domestic violence and there is no public outcry about them either. BeBe Winans has been dealt with via the legal system, charges were filed, and now that case is over..Charlie Sheen was arrested and charged - but his wife wants the charges dropped. Obviously Mr. Mary J. Blige has not pressed charges, but the greater problem for me is that she, being the bitch that she is, feels above reproach to be able to this type of shit and it is okay. I will say this (on the women as DV perpetrators), while it's wrong and unhealthy for men and women to hit each other, men don't generally die from bare fisted hits by their women whereas women generally die from bare fisted hits by their men. I think that's why we have the double standard about domestic abuse...because more often it's the women who end up dead. I don't think many women die from a punch as from being choked, stabbed or shot. All of which women can do and do in return. Even guys can be killed by a punch (usually being knocked out and hitting their head). I still don't think that's a defense of a double standard. But you know how I feel . . . .
