Hey kids go get some guns and load up the trunk with them, you might get caught but at least you will only spend a week in jail. How fucking sad that Rober Downey Jr. spent almost a year and half in Jail for Drug violations (not selling, using, which is a health issue not a crime) and TI loaded his car with enough weapons to kill a small army and served nothing

As many times as Robert Downey got caught with drugs, he needed to go to jail to save his damn life. rolleyes TI has served more than one month for his crime, so he's served SOMETHING. I could see if he wasn't the least bit remorseful for what he did, but he made a mistake and has learned and still is learning from it.

Agreed.

Ok so he did HARD DRUGS so did Elton John so did Jimi and janis and James Brown and Rick James and Kurt Cobain and John Lennon etc.. the point of the word "addict" is that, something you are addicted to. Caffenine is a mother fucking drug, nicotine is a motherfucking drug, same thing, it will you in the end just as simply, wake up on that. Presciption drugs are the same shit, just because some dick in a white coat with a degree gave it to you doesnt make a difference, if its giving u a feeling that you never had, its a DRUG.

As for talk of Downey, its the UNEVENESS in the system that is a problem, Drugs are a health issue, plain and simple, Downey never should have served a day. TI did 7 months for something ANYONE ELSE would do at least 5 years for, he got off because of his Celebrity plain and simple. As i said dude had an arsenal of weapons, not a pistol to protect himself on the street. Im tired of the excuses on that whole matter, because honestly its always the chick in the club who had nothing to do with a situation that gets shot in the crossfire of two assholes who bumped into each other, thats ALWAYS how it goes down, and im never gonna excuse that.

As for Downey he said that Jail didnt save him, because he could have just gotten out and done it again, jail didnt turn him around, each person has to have it in them to say STOP THIS SHIT, some people have it, some dont and those are the ones that fall.

No argument here on drugs being a health issue. My point was simply that I could understand why a rich dude with a whole lot of shit and a shady past with people who would want to rob him MIGHT have a small arsenal in his house in case some of those characters from his past might decide to resurface. I'm not saying its right; just saying I understand. My point was he wasn't wildin' out; he just broke probation and had illegal firearms. Lots of rednecks in the backwoods do, too. Truth be told, I don't see a problem unless they USE them. The government has twisted the Constitution six ways from sideways and socially engineered people into believing they are right for doing it.

[His race has nothing to do with this. Keep on topic snip - luv4u] This guy brought semi-automatic weapons off the street and has a criminal record. He was put in jail because he broke the law.

Excuse you! That's what I said. Don't reiterate my post and use it as an excuse to take shots at black folk. No one excused him. He went to jail. I simply stated that I understand WHY he had guns, not that I thought it was okay for him to break the law. He took a chance and he lost.
I have no problems with citizens owning automatic weapons. The government does. That's a constitutional debate made for the P&R section.

You understand why he had illegal weapons. Well you see that is a part of the problem. If you have money and your concerned about your safety you hire bodyguards you don't go out and back illegal weapons and the fact that we (black folks) can understand is a part of the problem.

This seems very apples and oranges to me. Different people, lives, circumstances, conditions, background, charges...

I don't know how appropriate it is to compare these two situations. If you want to have a conversation about gender, race, sex ... go ahead and do that. It just seems like shaky ground to run a through line between these two very different situations. (I mean c'mon, at least let it be Downey/Lil' Wayne in the contrast portion of this evening's entertainment.)
