Oh please. The only reason T.I. got into any trouble was because he has a prior record. Anyone else could have had as many guns as they wanted to IN THEIR HOME LIKE HE DID and no one would have been the wiser. The real lesson is to stay out of trouble; especially if you're planning a career in show business in your future. Its not like he was riding around shooting at people. The guns he got in trouble for were IN HIS HOME. All of the guns the media showed were locked away in his home. At this point, you'd expect someone...ANYONE with that much money to be armed.

You're right, the reason he got in trouble is because 1) he had guns in his home, and 2) he had a record that said he wasn't allowed to own guns. It doesn't matter if he was the DC Sniper Part II, or if he was shooting Malt Liquor bottles in his backyard. The dude ain't supposed to own a gun, PERIOD. He broke the law, and got caught. It's that simple. If he had guns in his home, and didn't have a record, you're right, he probably would not have had problems w/ the law. But when you fuck with the law, the law will win. There's no excuse. You know, you and I agree on a lot of things, but this is insane to defend a hood rat who is still disobeying the law. I couldn't give a shit if he's black or white, or whatever...he broke the MFing law, and was quite bold about it. If he feels he needs a bodyguard to protect his scrawny ass in public, and that bodyguard is licensed to carry a firearm, then so be it. But HE cannot own a gun, if he's a felon. The weapons charges are federal charges, not state misdemeanors. The dude has a violent streak (assaulting a woman) and bad judgment (driving on a suspended license, among other things). Now while he should serve his sentence (whatever the judge imposes, whether community service, jail time, fines, or a combination thereof),

Hopefully, with his pleas of "I've learned", we can believe that he HAS learned, and if he has any real talent at music, then that's where he'll put his energies in the future, instead of trying to live some thug lifestyle. It amazes me how folks work to get out of a tough upbringing, poor housing, rough streets, etc, yet the minute they make their first $500K or million, the first thing some of these guys do is go right back to that place, mentally. It fucks up EVERYTHING in their lives. We've seen it over and over.

T.I. is young, and I do hope he'll just do his thing, and be more appreciative of the fans who put their money into his pocket. What a slap in the face when these fuckers piss on everything everyone has given them, fans or whoever.

And Robert Downey jr is a drug addict. I think he's a great actor but he's a drug addict. I wouldn't trust Robert Downey Jr. in my house even though I know he's rich. Mutha fucka might get to rambling through the medicine cabinet or something. biggrin[

And as far as we know, he hasn't violated any terms of being a felon (if he is one), or being a recovering drug addict.

First of all, he needs to know the law, some states its legal some its illegal, the weapons he had many of them were not legal for citizens to carry, it was shit that special forces use to kill terrorists. Can we at least STOP this victim shit? TI is not a fucking victim of anything but BAD JUDGEMENT, he committed a crime, if something is illegal somewhere and you violate, you broke the fucking law. If the speed limit in New Jersey is 55 and some where else its 75 and you decide to drive 75 in Jersey because it should be like that, or you forget where the fuck you are, well tough shit, you broke the law. Lets stop with the victim excuse for carrying weapons, im done with feeling sorry for someone who gets caught with enough guns to shoot up a classroom, or shoots himself in a club by accident.

Why wouldnt i have a problem with the time spent in jail?? 7 months for something that nets 90% of the public 5 years at least, i mean come on, celebrity got him out dont jump over the issue here. Joe Schmo would be shackled in a piss invested cell, not under HOUSE ARREST? Which is one the stupidest terms ever, especially for an armed felon. Is he converted, i doubt it, but do you think hes not gonna still carry a gun? no of course he will, which again isnt the issue, we arent talking one gun to protect him from a thug coming for him, we are talking shit that the army has, dude was looking to do something, stop excusing the problems with "victim" talk.

Excuse you! That's what I said. Don't reiterate my post and use it as an excuse to take shots at black folk. No one excused him. He went to jail. I simply stated that I understand WHY he had guns, not that I thought it was okay for him to break the law. He took a chance and he lost.
I have no problems with citizens owning automatic weapons. The government does. That's a constitutional debate made for the P&R section.

Ok he's a drug addict that hasnt touched anything in close to 9 years now in form of drugs, so the term would be "recovering" or "reformed" addict. So are we gonna finally call people like MJ a drug addict on this forum, because i have SEEN NOTHING to that fact, his whole family lied about it for years, he paid doctors to keep it quiet, and yes his doctors were wrong, but he killed himself they didnt kill him alone. As for Downey's Drug years they started with smoking weed at about 7 years old, so if that means you are a drug addict, then 99% of the music business are addicts, including the man this forum is named after. Also if you drink coffee, smoke cigs, or drink that red bull shit, YOU ARE AN ADDICT to. And please dont say theres a difference, because in the end there isnt.

What a stretch. "Don't say there's a difference"? Are you kidding? Downey did HARD DRUGS, not just weed. If it were just weed, it wouldn't be an issue. Dude stayed coked up (like 80% of Hollywood in the 80s) and he wrecked his life over drugs. How do you know what he's touched or not? Are you him? I don't personally drink or smoke or even drink red bull but I can tell you for certain that dealing with someone on red bull and dealing with someone on coke or heroine are two completely different experiences. Dude was/is an addict. I'm glad to see he seems to be back on track but its still what he is. Should he have done time? Well, yes. Since he broke the law and some of you people around here seem to be such sticklers for laws, then according to many perspectives - YES. He broke the law. He went to jail. That's how it works. Do I personally think he should have been jailed? No. I don't think people should be jailed for destroying themselves. I think its a safe assumption that jail saved his life, though.

Ok so he did HARD DRUGS so did Elton John so did Jimi and janis and James Brown and Rick James and Kurt Cobain and John Lennon etc.. the point of the word "addict" is that, something you are addicted to. Caffenine is a mother fucking drug, nicotine is a motherfucking drug, same thing, it will you in the end just as simply, wake up on that. Presciption drugs are the same shit, just because some dick in a white coat with a degree gave it to you doesnt make a difference, if its giving u a feeling that you never had, its a DRUG.

As for talk of Downey, its the UNEVENESS in the system that is a problem, Drugs are a health issue, plain and simple, Downey never should have served a day. TI did 7 months for something ANYONE ELSE would do at least 5 years for, he got off because of his Celebrity plain and simple. As i said dude had an arsenal of weapons, not a pistol to protect himself on the street. Im tired of the excuses on that whole matter, because honestly its always the chick in the club who had nothing to do with a situation that gets shot in the crossfire of two assholes who bumped into each other, thats ALWAYS how it goes down, and im never gonna excuse that.

As for Downey he said that Jail didnt save him, because he could have just gotten out and done it again, jail didnt turn him around, each person has to have it in them to say STOP THIS SHIT, some people have it, some dont and those are the ones that fall.
