That's special.
Someone said (I can't recall) you can judge if music has any susbstance if you could put the music to strings....acoustically. I think there's some merit to that point of view. ===== [Edited 12/17/09 9:47am]

This is the one that gets me... ...Your Precious Love With that amazing bridge... VoicesCarry gave a definitive qoute when I did a post on this tune some years ago. tA: "And the bridge, the bridge. It's like a good desert after a great meal." VoicesCarry: "And tA, that ain't a bridge, that is the most delicate of Victorian arches." http://prince.org/msg/8/150534 Music for adventurous listeners tA Tribal Records "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. The thing that always got 2 me about Diana Ross' version of "Mountain", is that it always felt like it was the soundtrack 2 when god forbid, you have 2 leave or someone you love leaves you forever. And then Marvin who was tryin 2 tell us somethin about what was happenin then, yet look where we stand 2day. Even with our 1st black president we still got war, drugs, hatred, poverty, corruption, death, taxes, trouble..... [Edited 12/17/09 19:46pm]

War, Drugs, Hatred, Poverty, Corruption, Death, Taxes, Trouble..... Marvin really said it all in 1971-1972. When it mattered, now people are basically agreeing with what he was singing about and yes even with our first "biracial" president, there's still shit going on. And yeah Diana's "Mountain" was like a STORY.
