Not to mention she is fugly. I think she has a great personality, though. Another thing is I don't think she wanted to go down the sexy road that Britney and others went down. Mya kept doing the same thing over and over, while Britney started kissing Madonna and went crazy. Her sounding like a mouse didn't help either. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I think that is unnecessarily harsh.

I think I've heard 4 or 5 of her songs.
I couldn't recall a single one of them, not even 30 minutes after I'd heard them. The songs were generic. The voice wasn't very unique. And she was quite arrogant during her initial interviews. I remember seeing an interview about what they're new years resolutions were, she said something in a 'supposed' joking manner but with an arrogant air about it, "probably fire somebody." like she had an enormous MC-Hammer circa 1987 sized entourage or something. If you're going to have a generic voice and sing generic forgettable songs, you need to be damned sure your brother is Michael Jackson. Just sayin'

But unlike Mariah b4 her she didn't have the senority, money, or connects 2 keep from gettin sidekicked 2 the left... Little bit of both, there were people at Universal that wanted her, and someone well known that she was with, that was with someone else well known. I think u all can narrow down who the man was she got with. Well "moodring" was her best work just too damn long, and had too many slow songs, for a girl so hot that can dance so much she was doing ALOT of slow songs. The image didnt do her in, the change in decade did, she was a 90's artist and she came from that whole "featuring_____" era and now it had new blood like Ashanti, and MYA tried that game and it wasnt for her. Got mixed up with the wrong peeps, those peeps made SURE that moodring was let go QUICK, "fallen" was set to be her biggest solo single when suddenly the promo $$ were pulled. She then went over to Motown and that was a total mess, there was more of that "bullshit" at Motown than at UNIVERSAL, and started coming at people hard in interviews (50cent) being one of them, and if you read a recent intervieew with the GAME, he said "50 may be shit, but he could end your career with one call, he did it to ja rule and made sure MYA didnt come out" now usually i dont quote rappers, unless they are one of the pioneers, but the GAME is one of the last real cats. So MYA got stuck releasing that Motown album in Japan only, and it did her good because it humbled her and made her stronger, she needed to be out of the bullshit game, she needs to be like Teedra Moses (just put out the music dammit) but MYA is grown up now (not just that bod) and she isnt going to be "beyonce" at any point or even rihanna, that ship has sailed, she is 30 now, which is like 100 in RB female years, so MYA, for me, cut a dance record, drop the ballads, and show that perfect thigh to ass ratio, U fucking kill them all off! If you're going to have a generic voice and sing generic forgettable songs, you need to be damned sure your brother is Michael Jackson. Just sayin' Mya isn't stunningly beautiful, but she is very attractive, and she can dance well, but her voice was pretty thin and not distinctive from the average female R&B artist of this decade. Since she didn't stand out from the crowd, she quickly got usurped by the Beyonce and Alicia Keys hype machines, and later by Rihanna, who had Jay-Z backing her. That basically caused her to fade away, as it did the same to Ashanti, Amerie, Latoya Luckett, and just about every other female R&B singer except maybe Keshia Cole, who at least had picked up Mary J. Blige's mantle as the ghetto diva of this decade.

Jay Z. And 50 has alot of pull i dont know why, but apparently its known, just the fact that he came from nowhere and got into an area that few get into, and i have recently heard that almost all of it was false, including the shot 9 times deal which is what made him famous lets face it. But in the GAME's interview he basically calls him out so to speak on him having that kind of pull and power, i mean we cant deny the whole JaRule thing, i mean Ja had songs everywhere and then one day after a beef he was gone, blacklisted, that didnt just happen by chance.
