Purple Haze-The Jimi HEndrix Experience

Actually his first single was "Hey Joe" released in November 1966 in the UK it got to #5 and Purple Haze was not released until February 1967 and got to #3. I will agree that "Are You Experienced" is the most iconic debut album of all time though.

Actually her first release was "The Locomotion" in July 1987 which was a #2 in the UK and #1 in Australia and New Zealand. The strength of that single, was what helped convinced record company executives, that they should cut an album on Kylie Minogue. The result was history, her music career took off and she gave up NEIGHBOURS as a result of it.

I was going to add Nirvana till I researched and found out they had released an album and singles prior to Smells Like Teen Spirit that flopped.

Locomotion was only an Ozzie release I Should Be So Lucky was the debut in European and North American markets. Locomotion was rerelease in those markets after ISBSL

Still her debut single, is Australia not a big enough market to count, it was also released in New Zealand, b4 I should be so lucky.
