one of the most underrated vocalists ever.

I have always felt had she been American she would have been given more recognition.

Vocally she can stand up there with the Aretha's & Chaka's of this world worship

Did Prince have anything to do with this track? And you are right, if she was American, she would be better known

I agree. This little lady (not "little" anymore..lol.....saw her with Gordo on "The F Word") never got her due.

I always thought her version (no disrespect to Tamia) of "You Put A Move On My Heart" was breathtaking.

No. He did give her 'If I Luv U Tonite' for her next album, though. And she sang vocals on Just My Imagination, from the crowd, at an '88 aftershow at the Camden Palace (now KOKO).

Love me some Mica! She's a wildly underrated artist. I like the album Contribution that followed this one, and the one she did in 1998, Black Angel, particularly - they're both innovative but solid RnB albums. ('Carefree', from the latter, gives a pretty good sense of what it's like.) Sadly, neither sold very well, largely, I think, because her labels never seemed to quite know what to do with her outside of marketing her to fit a safe soul-pop image that never really allowed her to fulfill her potential.

This song has always reminded me of Prince's "Sweet Baby".
