Well its the Riaa and how they certify, and almost indentical to the list that was posted on this forum last year. As for Black Artists, last time i checked Sade,Outkast,R Kelly,Tlc,EWF,Janet,Luther,Boyz II MEn,RKelly,2Pac,Jay Z were all black.

Well duh, but outta a hundred? those few? the RIAAA can fuck off with their bulshit stats.

Well its all bullshit when it comes to numbers because neither SOundscan nor the RIAA are accurate and NEITHER tracks returns of records.

AFAIK, a lot of sales were not reported by Motown. For instance, I don't believe Talking Book, Innervisions, and Fulfillingness' First Finale have ever been certified platinum, but they surely must be by now (if not multi-platinum).

Yeah, it's certified diamond in the US (10x platinum). The albums after that one are also certified (In Square Circle is double platinum; Hotter Than July, The Woman in Red, and Characters are platinum; and Musiquarium, Conversation Peace, and A Time to Love are gold. Two other hits albums are also platinum and the boxed set is gold.

Gotta say it. only one new album this decade, and MJ is still right there, i'm assuming this doesn't take into account all his sales post-MJ.

Consistantly massive seller, 70s, 80s, 90s and Noughties. The shit didn't stick, even in the States it seems.

God bless him.

Beyonce is talented, I enjoy some of her songs and performances but her hype is just...for me, it's a turn off. I'm sorry. The way people carry on sometimes, I mean it's just out of this world. The artist of the decade's not even in the Top 50 album sellers.

What a joke. How much did you pay for the title honey?

I am no Beyonce fan (in fact I dislike her music) but I don't think it is so weird. She only had 3 studio albums (and some other albums) so she would need on average 3m for each studio album (and 1m for each of the others) in order to reach 12m and as we know this wasn't the case at all, probably only her first reached those numbers

In a way, it's weird that a collection of 1960s songs outsold ALL new music this decade...

I wonder what the best selling album of 2010s is gonna be? Probably some Thriller repackage?

Madonna sold around 10 million in the 2000s:

Music: ~2.92 million
GHV2: ~1.38 million
American Life: ~675,000
Remixed & Revisited: ~128,000
Confessions On A Dance Floor: ~1.7 million
I'm Going To Tell You A Secret: ~84,000
The Confessions Tour: ~140,000
Hard Candy: ~725,000
Celebration: ~175,000

Plus around almost 2 millions of The Immaculate Collection sales and a bit of the older albums too.
