Discipline is at more than 800K.

Okay, why are you so rude? Just because Janet's not doing as well as she did before doesn't make her bad. She's doing better because her GH album got certified gold in the UK and that's like her first in a long time. And Madonna has more of an advantage then Janet now. Janet's doing fine.

Who's rude, it's just you being delusional. lol

Well it is an achievement that she shipped 100k in the UK after her 2 albums that peaked at #63, but in the US she barely cracked 100k and that's a far cry from even Discipline that sold nearly 500k...

Delusional? you're the one hyping 1.4 million WW sales up

1.4 million WW is still SEVEN times more than the "doing fine" 200k. I only mentioned it when you said it's a GH so it cannot be called a flop. Even though the difference is more than a million, both are just "doing fine" it seems. razz

Janet's career may be down the toilet, but I'd still rather listen to Rhythm Nation than any Madonna album.

But Janet's not very old like Madonna and GH sell over time. I honestly didn't expect it to sell in the millions. I know she can't sell as much as she used since SB happened. So yes she's doing fine wink Madonna's main market is outside of the states. She's a flop in the US. Celebration sold only 175K in over here.

so many flops, I can't keep up.

definite predicting Usher for 2010. hmmm

I'm gonna vote Cassie for this year because she still can't get the album out even after fucking Diddy, showing tits and bush on the internet, and shaving her head trying to be "eclectic" disbelief

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who was fairing better in 2009.

Don't see what that or the pix you posted have anything to do in a sales thread, but nice to see trolls and loons around.

Celebration is still almost twice as much as Number Ones in Janet's main market. Quite ridiculous to call Madonna's 175k US flop when Janet sold only slightly more than that in the whole world, which you call "doing fine".

The difference between them is just 8 years and their career started at the same time. If SB is to blame for Janet, then I can just as easily say AL for Madonna.

LOL! Get real! Madonna's GH was released in September. Janet's in November.175K in the states is bad!! Janet's will sell over time. With this iTunes era I wouldn't expect GH to do well anyway. I don't understand why you're trying to make this into a Janet vs. Madonna thread. confused

and what do you mean just 8 years? Probably in dog years!! and I hope you're not trying to compare Janet's SB incident to a flop album without an incident like the SB?

Oh I see you're just a Janet troll. And you're right, I can't compare an album that flopped and nobody cared about after Madonna was labeled anti-American by the press to a publicity stunt Janet pulled to get attention to her single sent to radio the day after.

And no, Janet's won't sell over time and I still don't get how can the same person say 175k in the US being bad when he celebrates WW sales of 200k. Seems like you need help.

I didn't turn it into a Madonna vs Janet thread, but you turned it into a Janet apologist thread (I listed her among many flops and you jumped in) and that other person a let's troll against Madonna thread.

Yes it had, for the person claiming a 200k GH was "doing fine" and not being a flop. I didn't start shit like "I'd rather listen to Celebration than Number Ones", did I?

Lol! No, you can't.

I'm sure it will like most GH albums. 175K out of 1.4 million is bad! are you kidding? I'm not celebrating anything lol!

Yes, you did. You put Janet's GH album like it's a new studio album when it's not. It's just a compilation. You brought Madonna up out of nowhere.

175k out of 1.4M is bad but 90k out of 202k is amazing. Got it. And got it that Superbowl killed Janet and if she sells at least 1 copies of her 80s-90s greatest hits, she does fine. The thing one can learn from Janet fans at a Prince forum.

Discussing sales is not off topic in this thread. Posting pictures of Madonna and Janet is, I didn't start that, get over yourself.

You can't be serious neutral Do the math!

About 44% of Janet's sales came from the states. Should I even bother mentioning Madonna's?

Janet's album barely scraped the top 30 in the UK despite a massive high profile promotional campaign.

If she can't shift the hits, what hope has she for shifting any new material?

You're having so much fun, aren't you?

Who cares about % if Madonna in the US alone almost completely outsold Janet's WW total without doing any tv performances? You'd have a point if Janet sold nothing internationally but more than Madonna in the US, but that's not the case. Madonna's first week US sales in September were higher than Janet's in November too, once again, don't know what are you trying to prove here.

Unless radio starts to play her, nothing. Same for Madonna in the US actually, she will struggle to outsell Discipline if her singles are ignored again.

Stop it with the Janet vs.Madonna nonsense! The truth is,NOBODY is selling alot of CDs these days.In Madonna's case,it doesn't matter though, since she has a hugely successful tour every few years. She's found other ways to remain relevent and make alot of money.
